Hi, I get no response from my computers when connecting the STEVAL-MKI109V3 with the USB cable. When connecting the cable the blue led turns on and after a few seconds the green led starts blinking. From what I read this is normal behaviour. The board is not discovered by a Windows 10 system and not shown in the device manager. So, when I got no contact, I found that I should try to reprogram the unit with STM32 cube programmer. When I press the buttons BT3 and BT2, and then releasing BT2, the board starts with only the blue led, which I have read should be correct. The problem is that there is no indication of the board in the device manager whatsoever. I also connected the board to linux and tried monitoring system events when connecting the USB cable but there was no indication of that the board was connected. Could it be something wrong with the board? Is it possible to reflash the the board with a KEIL ULINK2 programmer I have available? If possible, how is a reflash done with

Hi,I am student and we are using this Mikroe WiFi8 Click Board for one of our faculty projects. We are using STM32 Cube IDE, and we are using Clicker 2 for STM32 Development Board. I am trying to find suitable driver for this board. I only found Mikroe example for mikroC and I adapted it for STM32 Cube, but it is not working. I almost copied everything from that example, just changed some specific functions (SPI initialization), and device do not want to initialize. Does anyone have similar problem? Does anyone have any detailed user manual for ATWINC3400-MR210CA and some more info on how to communicate with this chip?Clicker 2 for STM32 Development Board uses STM32F407VGT6 MCU

I am struggeling to make the INT1 to activate due to a FIFO watermark event.I have a simple driver so far to ease the design verification testing of our card, and I am just trying to make sure that the INT1 line can be driven active by the LIS3DH.To do so, I just enable the FIFO in regular FIFO mode and enable the I1_WTM in the CTRL_REG3.I expect that the INT1 will activate (high or low depending on the INT_POLARITY in CTRL_REG6) when the FIFO fills up to the watermark.I can see that the WTM in the FIFO_SRC_REG goes 1, but the INT1 line is not driven active.Is there any order of operations, or anything I am missing? I am using lis3mdl and try to use libiio in my programm.In my programm I enabling chanels and try to create buffer with iio_device_create_buffer function. It fails with error "Operation not permitted".Also "WARNING: High-speed mode not enabled" message prints in terminal (I assume this message is printed by libiio)What should I do? Should I turn on this high-speed mode in device tree or what?

In my movement I am not going over the threshold for orientation change (we put it at 50%)m, so this is really not cleare why.Thank you for your helpMaya

Posted on June 13, 2016 at 21:32Having previously used with the VL6180X, I expected the VL53L0X to be similar in architecture.  However, while I found a somewhat useful data sheet, it does not seem to contain a register map.  It seems I'm supposed to use the example source code to understand how to program the VL53L0X.  However, I find the example code to be written in a way I'd almost call obfuscated because of the dense use of &sharpdefines to recursively redefine things.  It's taken me nearly 2 hours to unravel and understand just the VL53L0X_DataInit() function.  Is there a register-level description of the VL53L0X available?  If so, I can't find it.Wayne #vl53l0x

Hi, this is a question about LIS2DH12. I've been puzzled over the full scale settings for this sensor.As it says in the datasheet, the ranges are ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g, yet when I am set at 16g, I am able to obtain a max range of -24656, +24384.I am using low power mode, and calculating the ranges by hand, here are the ranges I get:(-24656, 24384) 16G(-8192, 8128) 8G(-4096, 4064) 4G(-2048, 2032) 2GSince at low power mode, the accelerometer only outputs a byte of data, and accounting for a signed integer, the max positive value would be 127 multiplied by whatever the mg/digit is.In the case of 16G, it would be 127 * 192 = 24384, yet for the other configurations the max value remain near their thresholds.Therefore, is there something I am misunderstanding about 16G mode, or is there something wrong with the datasheet?Thanks for your time,Isaac

Hello,I'm currently working on a project requiring to get X, Y and Z angles from 2 sensors, (IIS2MDC and ISM330DHCX). In order to do so, I use MotionFX and its 2 functions, MotionFX_propagate and MotionFX_update, both used to run Kalman STM's algorithms.Everything works fine on the X and Y axis. However, the Z axis is not responding as it should:While the board is on it's first side, the Z angle is correctly read and computed. If the board is rotated of 90°, the result returned is indeed 90°.But if the board is fliped on its other side, the angle I get is 60°. Furthermore, that behavior is no observed if the data is acquired and processed as a 6-axis acquisition.Has anyone observed such an issue? Could it be a magnetometer calibration or a sensor setup issue?Many thanks for the help you could provide.Matthieu

Hello,I bought the STEVAL-STWINKT1B development kit and I used the High Speed Datalog example and setting correctly the JSON in the SD the program works correctly.I would like to replicate part of the application that is reading the data from the sensors and saving them on the sd without using Freertos.Currently I am trying to create a file inside the SD but I can't do it,I tried to open the MX cube program, selected the STEVAL-STWINKT1B board and then I followed the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9KDN1o6924the only thing that I could not replicate was the selection of DMA for SDMMC because there is no DMA tab in SDMMC.For the rest after following the video and replicated the steps the program compiles but does not save to SD.How can I solve this problem, thank you

I am trying to use INT2 pin for FIFO overrun in stream mode because I am dumb and have ONLY connected INT2 to my MCU. INT1 is NC. Trying to avoid a new board.The datasheet seems to contradict itself but I expect I am missing something. I have tried all combinations of these three register bits:CTRL_REG3[I1_OVERRUN] enables FIFO overrun on INT1CTRL_REG6[I2_INT1] states "Interrupt 1 function enable on INT2 pin."FIFO_CTRL_REG[TR] "1: trigger event allows triggering signal on INT2"I would have thought setting these bits would achieve my goal but it doesn't seem to. Is this component able to trigger FIFO overrun interrupt on pin INT2?Many thanks.

Our project is using the ISM303DAC as an E-Compass. In our particular use case the product will be running remotely for several months. Are there any methods we can use to mitigate or minimize any general drift over time?ST support suggested periodic calibration, however that is not possible in our use case as we will not have access to the device over the several months it is collecting data. We will only have the device beforehand, where we can calibrate it and then after it has finished collecting data for several months.

Hi,I am trying to integrate the ISM330DLC sensor (with Adafruit dev board). I am trying to communicate with the sensor using SPI, and I tested the communication by trying to read the WHO_AM_I register (0Fh). Attached below is a capture of the communication. And as it can be seen, the default result should be (6Ah), but I keep getting 48h. I cannot seem to find what the error is.Nisal

We have a product based on the LSM6DS3 and are shortlisted for a large deployment. Customer has some additional questions on MEMS used:- MEMS sensor BW (3db + resonant freq)- ODR accuracyI can find this data for IIS3DWB but not for LSM6DS3 or similar.Any assistance appreciated -- thanks

I am using the LSM6DSL for a high frequency vibration measurement involving the accelerometer sensor only (gyroscope is turned off). Output data rates are variable between 400-3.3kHz. A recent frequency sweep experiment (0-6kHz applied on external speaker) with the 3.3kHz ODR in high performance mode, analog anti-aliasing filter bandwidth set at 1.5kHz and digital filter at ODR/2 as per the datasheet. In the resultant spectrogram, the frequency sweep signal aliases after crossing ODR/2, ODR, and 1.5*ODR multiple times over, with no obvious roll-off as would be expected with analog filter cutoff at 1.5kHz and digital filter at 1.66kHz. Forcing the analog filter to 400Hz and digital filter to ODR/4 does not seem to change anything.These anti-aliasing filters at minimum ODR/2 should be active at all times, but this seems not to be the case. Is it possible that switching off the gyroscope might be causing issues with the enabling of these necessary filters? Similar aliasin

we made a compas with the LSM303AGR. it is with endusers already. the problem we encounter is that the RAW sensor values drift with temperature change. we tested fom -8C Celcius to +29C Celsius. the RAW values drift substantially. we have set the Comp_Temp_En at 1. so compensation is enabled. is there anything else we can do to stop the drift?kind regards, Rob
