Original title: "Trouble with Sensortile.box. Won't stay connected to Bluetooth. Firmware upgrade to V349 completed, but no example apps. Works once, after reflash, can run new app I created, but then stops. Ran upgrade procedure several times, same result. A safe procedure" Everything worked by following the steps, and using STM32Cube Programmer, to flash the new firmware. The instructions specify <SensorTile.box_V3p4p4_BL>, but I used the latest version <SensorTile.box_BL_V3p4p9b.bin> instead. And it worked...sort of. Upon disconnecting from USB, reconnecting battery and USB cable, the device was instantly seen. But there were no example apps. ?? I could however run an app I had created, and stream a plot of realtime accelerometer data to the phone, which was great (!)...but when when I left the stream and went back to the STBLE S

Hi,I've tried to configure the DREADY to INT1 and read the output registers. I believe I'm making some mistake in the configuration as I observed that I'm able to read the OUT registers when I using the polling method. I've tried using the ST MEMS C driver and directly writing to the registers. Hi ,We connected STM32F051 to ASM330 over SPI . The communication works only with Chip select line being toggled LOW as a GPIO line the SPI is not able to set Chip select Low . There is a 10K ohm Pull-Up resistor on the Chip Select Line . What is the suggested solution for the Chip select line to work with SPI and not to use Chip select as GPIO .

Hello all, looking forward to answering some questions but first, I bring my own!We're looking for an ultra-low-power accelerometer that can count and record steps, then push the count when requested.Implementation will be a remote motion monitor using ESP32 as the main processor. We've found that pedometers work well to capture the motion, but require someone to go out and check each time we need a reading.We plan to deep-sleep the ESP32 while core functions, like pedometer, remain active.Then upon waking, the ESP32 will request step count and send results over WiFi, along with some other information.We're measuring movements, rather than steps, so it would be useful (although not essential) to be able to modify the trigger settings for a step.Due to the application size (and weight) are priority, so a single low-power chip is preferred.The LIS2DS12 looks suitable, although will require a logic-level shifter for use with the ESP32.Is there a 3V option we've overlooked?Finally, th

I have a custom PCB with a LSM6DSM accelerometer and it's being controlled with a nRF52 running Zephyr. The Zephyr RTOS sensor libraries only have LSM6DSL and LSM6DSO devicetrees. According to the initialzation functions it's communicating correctly, but the readings come out very wrong, sometimes it's all zeros, sometimes it's 0.004, very weird in my opinion. At first I considered it could be damage to the board, but testing on multiple PCBs still gives out that same result. I asked about it on the Nordic forum and the answer I got was to firstly check with ST if the LSM6DSM module is fully compatible with the LSM6DSL command set, and if not which LSM6 could be more campatible. I did take a look on the datasheet and it seems to be compatible.

I would like to use the digital interface (not sure what that means) of an existing system control computer to control the recording (start & stop, perhaps gain etc.) from digital MEMS microphones (I2S or PDM). Which hardware options do I have, and how could I control the recording via scripting etc.?

Hi TeamWe are currently working on ST PN: LIS2DW12TR in our new project. Thus, I would like to check with ST whether this part is OK to be Conformal coated? The reason is, our PCB will need to be conformal coating after all the components are populated on it. Hence would like to understand if there is any risk for this ST component to go thru this conformal coating process.Regards,Abishek

Hi!I'm using the LaunchPad CC2642R1/CC2652R1 with the accelerometer LIS2DH and i tested the "who am i" (0x33) register to validate the protocol but when i tried read another register i had the same response that "who am i" (0x33) register. Could you help me with this problem or give me some ideas to solve it?How can i set up the accelerometer? I can't read any register other than who am i (this register is shows in each reading).Thank you in advance.Best regards,Tania

Sorry for the I'm too stupid to figure this out myself question, but couldn't figure out how to do this myself. In CubeMX Pinout & Configuration under software packs, I can install MEMS support, add a LSM6DSO (and required support elements) using i2c. In the Software Packages I can configure the mems and the LSM6DSO (including the SD0/AD0 pin for LSB of the address). But, how does one add a second LSM6DSO to the project? Configuring the second slave address looks easy enough, but I need a second sensor instance first. Do I have to manually replicate the generated code used to create the first instance or is there some built-in way to "give me another i2c device with this configuration" option?

I have recently purchased the SensorTile development kit.I installed/soldered a sensortile and I noticed the LED didnt come on.I then felt the CPU was getting very hot.I reinstalled another sensorTile and the very same thing happened.Note I was extremely careful the second time I soldered the device so I am confident the rework was ok.I checked the various voltages to the sensorTile with an oscilloscope and everything looks good.

We are migrating from LSM6DSR to LSM6DSOX. In LSM6DSR the nominal timestamp resolution used to be around 25 μs. And we used to get 52 samples/sec from the FIFO.However, in LSM6DSOX with a similar setting, we are getting a resolution of around 18 μs. And hence sample has gone up to 72. What should changes be made to get similar samples as LSM6DSR

Hello communityI'm having issues with the STEVAL - MKI109V3 board and the Unico GUI. There is no driver identified for the board. I've tried installing the driver for Windows 8, which gets identified but when I try to open Unico GUI, I get an error message stating that it can't connect to the board, and the program closes.After some investigation there are more people that have had this issue, but I have not found a solution that works for me. Has anybody had experience with this and found a solution?

Hi ST community,Currently we are trying to use the LSM6DSO (6 Axis MEMS sensor) in our project.We were able to successfully test the LSM9DS1 (9 Axis MEMS sensor) using the ST Adapter board STEVAL-MKI159V1 and we had no issues communicating with it and were also getting very good results.For this adapter board, we connected:-Vdd = 3.3v-VddIO = 3.3v-SDO = SPI MISO-SDA = SPI MOSI-SCL = SPI clock-CS = SPI chip select (Negated)And ofcourse the Ground pin as wellAnd whenever we send the command 0x8F to read the WHO_AM_I register (Register address 0x0F) via SPI we get the correct response back which was 0x68 from the accelerometer/gyroscope module and 0x3D from the magnetometer. And these are the correct values that are described the LSM9DS1 datasheet.Now we trying to communicate with the LSM6DSO (using ST Adapter board STEVAL-MKI196V1), by doing the same exact connections like the LSM9DS1.-Vdd = 3.3v-VddIO = 3.3v-SDO = SPI MISO-SDA = SPI MOSI-SCL = SPI clock-CS = SPI chip select (Negated)And

Hi,We have received a new batch of boards and the sensor is not responding (The only change is the solder mask colour) to the "Who_am_I_ID" command. In the previous batch every thing worked as intended.Is it possible to, based on QR code, to see if these two chips are the same component, see images below? When measuring the SPI communication, the clock and MOSI seems OK, but the MISO signal is ~1.5V and is not responding. On the working board the signal is either 3V or 0V.What could be the issue? BRJohannes

I put a logic analyzer on the I2C and INT1 line, and note that the INT1 continues to trigger but the I2C lines do not show data transfer anymore. Are there known issues? Is it a problem with the sensor or the host code? It may be dependent on the ODR (with faster ODR increasing likelihood). I am trying to evaluate how stable the heading orientation is over long time periods when using the 6-axis fusion (quaternion output).

Dear ST Community,Have no experience with STM32 MCUs nor with any programming IDEs used to develop for STM chips. As i am developing on espressif MCUs...However recently i am trying to integrate a MEMS sensor of STM into my project.I found out Unico GUI is meant to be a software which would allow developers to design Machine Learning Core and/or Finite State Machine solutions and also export those as C .h files to be used within user code.Unico also has the "offline" feature which would allow to use Unico's capabilities even if one does not have access to any of ST motherboards and sensor evaluation boards. The input for Unico is raw sensor data logged into a file in that case.While i can start an offline MLC workflow in Unico and have expected output, i simply can not do anything in offline mode when choosing an FSM workflow. By that i mean:If i try to load any .ucf files, then Unico tells data has been loaded, but all the fields in the form remain empty, nothing gets populated with d

I have about 10 of these devices on about 6 computers, so this problem is common, the device runs at about 1200 to 1400 Hz. The picture shows a temperature, frequency and FFT results plot for one device. The typical is about 1400 +- 50. I take and FFT every 16384 data points, but I have to measure the time for each 16384 data points and adjust the FFT results. I have calibrated it against a standard accelerometer on a known vibration element. Is this the expected behavoiur? it is not temperature dependent and only windows is running on the devices as they are remote. I do not mind, I just want to confirm it. One has to use the ticks on computer clock as the return on the time registers is not accurate enough nor calibrated.
