STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Hello!I am using the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q development board. In STM32CubeMX, I selected "Start My project from ST Board" and chose the corresponding model. I generated both an STM32CubeIDE project and an MDK project. The M4 and M7 firmware compiled from the STM32CubeIDE project can be downloaded to the board and run. When the button is pressed, the light can flash. However, the M4 and M7 firmware compiled from the MDK project cannot be run when downloaded to the board. The light does not flash. What could be the reason? Logically speaking, the same CubeMZX sample was used, only the generated projects are different. Please help me. Thank you!

After updating Cube IDE to version 1.15.0 the memory details & memory regions map in the build analyzer are not showing any informations beside the linker script file name in all my projects start to be bold!!!

I'm looking to utilize an FTP server with the STM32F7NI-Discovery board. Specifically I'm looking at taking Nx_Webserver demo for that board (which works great) and adding the ftp module to it that NetxDuo provides. However, I'm seeing that the F7 chips don't have a way to add the FTP module to NetxDuo using the STMCube IDE, where that option is available for the H7 chips. Is there anything preventing me from getting an ftp server running by manually copying the addon from the NetxDuo Github repo and modifying the WebServer Demo project to utilize FTP on the F7 board? I've gone ahead and added the files to the project and it compiles just fine, but I run into memory management issues when trying to create an FTP server with it. That could very easily just be my own inexperience with the tools, though.  

I have a project for STM32F777 generated by STM32CubeMX 6.15.0.The macro definition of #define assert_param(expr) exists in 2 include files - stm32f7xx_hal_conf.hand stm32_assert.hBoth files are included on different levels of the project. Is there a reason to have two indentical definitions in the code?  

 When I try to log in to my account, the software prompts "Connection lost"After I rolled back the version to 1.17, this issue disappeared. Many users in the China region have encountered this problem, and it’s unclear if it exists elsewhere.

Hello all, I'm having problems with I2C1, i have a code that works perfectly while i configure the HCLK to 8MHz but it stops working when i set any higher frequency. Has anybody faced similar problem? I am using STM32CubeIDE for setting the project, this microcontroller has a separate clock from HCLK, and i can't understand why I'm having this problem.   Thanks in advance.

I have a problem with installing STM32CubeProgrammer. The installion of this program has 9 steps. However, I cannot see step 8 and step 9. For this reason, I cannot install the program. When I am looking for the solution, some people say that computer's language should be converted to English but I have single language edition of Windows and the languge is not English. That's why I cannot converted it. Can you give another solution for this issue? As you can see, there is no such a thing, in step 8. For this reason, I cannot complete the installation. 

Hi all,I am trying to implement ADC acquisition on one channel, with 14 bit, 4x oversample, at 1 Msmps (1 megasample per second). This is possible only using dual interleaved mode. Moreover, I want to acquire continuosly with circular DMA.But it is not clear to me how to set the right values in CubeMX, and I can't use the datasheet (which I have read) to understand, it seems CubeMX and datasheet use different names for the same thing.Let start from my ADC1 settings:Are the settings right until now? HiJust hours ago, I updated the IDE from 1.14.0 to the latest version 1.19.0, a build on the project I have been working on fails by RAM and Flash overflow. I am trying to debug my hardware for the first time. I was working in TrueStudio 9.3.0 as I had started this project in it before STM32CubeIDE came out. When I started to try to debug my program to day I got an error. OK, maybe I should try STM32CubeIDE instead. Loaded this up and got the project migrated with no problem. Hello everyone,We are exploring a transition from Eclipse based CubeIDE to VSCode. While progress on STM32 VSCode plugin is progressing, there is still some rough edges that should be fixed. One of it is as in subject... How to skip image download to MCU when launching debug session? We are trying to import TF-M project from mainline Trusted Firmware Repository to our vscode environment. We successfully built and run BL2, TFM_S and TFM_NS, but unfortunately we are still struggling with debugging. How to start debug (we are using JLink) but to skip download of the image? TF-M is "fragile" to any flash rewrite, and we would like to just start debug session without any flash download.Something similar as in Eclipse STM32CubeIDE: 

Thread split from this discussion; specifically, this post.   My mistake. Doesn't make sense to have the nominal SJW mixed with the data bit configuration. It should be inside the Bit timing parameter tree view along with the other nominal configurations. 

HiI don't know what happens, I just restarted my laptop, then it does not run or debug from CubeIDE. Before I retarted the laptop, I was debugging.When I click to Run or Debug, there is nothing appearing in the console window.  I closed the IDE twice, but nothing changed.Anybody knows how to resolve this issue?Chao 

Hello, When I attempt to set up an existing project or create a new project with the VSCode plugin version 3.6.4, I do not see the STM32N6 family as an available/supported device. Am I missing a package or is something corrupted in my installation?

Trying to debug my code in VSCode using the Cortex-Debug extension, however, I cannot seem to locate the SVD file for the STM32U073CCTx MCU. The CAD Resources tab for the STM32U073CC does not show anything other than footprints.  Any ideas where I can find the file?  Are there any alternatives I can use in the mean time?

In the IOC editor, under PWR, and Monitoring, I have set belowand, I read that below in NVIC needs to be setWhen I look at git diff to observe changes, no files except ioc have been changed. How do I get it to work. I am using CubeIDE 1.19.   

HiIt's a disaster that Current CubeMX have to select CMSIS when enabling freertos. many developers use raw freertos API to develop project. The project based on raw freertos api is more compatiable with other MCUs, also they are familar with raw freertos API. I think this option should be reserved for developer. Is there any way to use raw freertos api in cubemx? Peter

I am having some issues with getting UART uploading working. I can read the chip and get it's ID, but it keeps saying it cannot get acknowledgments.  Everything is directly connected. Serial TX/RX to their corresponding pins and RTS to Boot and DTR to Reset.At first, I thought it was because the FT232RNL chip has flipped polarity, but we can change this through the FTDI programmer. After changing it, I am still having the issue above. Looking online, I see some people put a cap in between the DTR and Reset. Is this actually required? I know they did not on Arduino's. but I always though it was because their bootloader required it since there was no boot pin like on the ST's.I cycled through all the possibilities for the DTR and RTS configuration in the ST Programmer software, but none of them seem to fix the issue.  Any guidance on this?

The "Discover" button on the STM32CubeProgrammer fails to connect to my my STM32H56x (STM32H562VGT6) in the Closed state (0x72). The instructions I followed for enabling password security are in the "How to enable RDP-like product state flash protection in STM32H5 microcontrollers" post. No errors came up in following these steps. To summarize my steps:1. Installed STM32CubeProgrammer and STM32TrustedPackage Creator2. Generated OBKey and password.bin files from DA_ConfigWithPassword.xml 3. Set PRODUCT_STATE to Provisioning (0x17) and executed "Start Provisioning" with the generated .obk file4. Set PRODUCT_STATE to Closed (0x72)  The issue arises when going to perform a regression. In the Debug Authentication window, clicking the "Discover" button does not prompt me to select a password file and throws an error that states "Failed to communicate with target !". The Debug Authentication sequence does not start. The same error occurs whether or not my ST-Link

I’m using the pre-release STM32Cube for Visual Studio Code (v3.5.1).After importing a project that was originally generated by STM32CubeMX with the “cmake” toolchain selected, the .vscode folder is created but contains neither tasks.json nor launch.json.When I try to add tasks.json manually, the command palette no longer offers the usual templates such as “STM32: CubeProg: Flash project (SWD)”.Could you confirm whether this is a regression in 3.5.1?If an immediate fix isn’t possible, would you mind sharing the correct tasks.json and launch.json snippets so I can paste them in by hand? Test conducted on July 28, 2025, testing platform Ubuntu 22.04+vscode(v1.102.2)+pre-release STM32Cube for Visual Studio Code (v3.5.1), test target STM32G474RET6.
