STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Currently I'm developing within the STM32CubeIDE for an STM32F373CC.I use the main.c as entry point into a wrapper and program all of the rest in C++. I generally try to keep any HAL code outside of simple classes that can be unit tested easily. Ideally my tests would still compile when data types and some definitions are used from the HW-related codes but I don't really need actual HW-code running within a test. I just want to test algorithms and basic classes. Any comments regarding the HAL or any other HW-related code would still be appreciated.When adding a class to my project the IDE suggests adding a unit test: So how exactly is this supported? The Foo_test.cpp is simply added to my project but I'm not sure how to proceed. Do I have to integrate a unit testing framework on my own? Is there a framework somehow included in the STM32CubeIDE? I have a custom build setup in VSCode, where I'm using CMake with Ninja to generate build files while using a GCC 12.3 delivered with STM32CubeIDE and GDB as well. For the hardware part I have a standalone STM32U535 MCU with SWD connection and ST-LINK V3 MINI for flash and debug. As for the software, I use HAL, linker script, and startup file which are all generated by STM32CubeMX.Meanwhile project files build flawlessly and executable is generated, code crashes when first instruction of startup file startup_stm32u535vetxq.s is executed. When I try to stop execution, the execution doesn't end up in HardFault handler but it's simply lost. The stack view implies undefined values, implying there might be some mess-up with stack pointer. However given the default linker script and startup files are used without any modifications, I wouldn't consider this a real problem.If I compile the same project with STM32CubeIDE and try to debug it, the code execution reaches main() without any is

I have a cube project, that uses FreeRTOS that was in a directory and working fine. Needed putting on svn, which I've done, but when I check it out to a new machine it won't compile telling me that it can't fine FreeRTOS.h, stm32h563xx.h and various others files. When I look in the original project it looks like it's pointing to a load of hardcoded places to find various files such as:/home/username/STM32Cube/Repository//Packs/STMicroelectronics/X-CUBE-FREERTOS/1.2.0/Middlewares/Third_Party/FreeRTOS/Source/include/This is obviously terrible in its own right, but I think it would be better, if possible, that all these requisite source files are copied into the project so there's no worries at all about finding files. If that's not possible, surely, thse shold be pointing at something like:$(INST_DIR)/STM32Cube/Repository//Packs/STMicroelectronics/X-CUBE-FREERTOS/1.2.0/Middlewares/Third_Party/FreeRTOS/Source/include/Or whatever Cube might use for its syntax. Hi,Can be logging done without same information being printed in the Concole view ?When I select[Run > Debug Configurations > Debugger > Log to file]the information stored to log.txt is also sent to the Console view. How to disable output to the Console and still have the log content ?ThanksFerro

Hello! I believe I found a code generation bug. I am currently using IDE version 1.16.1.By default, when enabling ADC with an STM32U5, HAL_MSPInit() has the line: HAL_PWREx_EnableVddA() which is necessary to have a positive reference for the ADCs (the U5 series has some internal switch to enable VDDA)However, when enabling the feature "Generate peripheral initialization as a pair of '.c/.h' files per peripheral", the generated code removes the VDDA Enable line from HAL_MSPInit(). This makes the same ADC code fail to start (and lead to many hours of debugging).Hoping someone at ST can confirm this (and push a fix) to confirm the root cause!  

Hello,I fear I may be getting tunnel visioned, but I am getting an error when I try to manually add the BSP files for the STM32H7B3I-EVAL board. I am getting the following error: "Description Resource Path Location Typefatal error: stm32h7b3i_eval.h: No such file or directory main.h /Display_CubeMXBringUp_Test/Core/Inc line 34 C/C++ Problem"Now, the file is in the folder Drivers/BSP/STM32H7B3I-EVAL, which is part of my include path. See the picture below, including the file in the directory via the File Explorer.Can someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong?  

Hi Team,"I am trying to configure an HTTP server on the Nucleo-H745ZIT6 board, which has two Cortex cores. I am using Cortex-M7 for this. After enabling HTTP in middleware inside LwIP, and generating the code, LwIP is placed inside the Cortex-M7 folder, but the HTTP code is generated outside of it. When compiling, I get an error saying 'fsdata.c: No such directory.' They are adding the HTTP image inside the HTTP folder, but I need to configure the resources configuration but not getting the option and I'm not sure how. Greetings!The problem that I have is that Project Explorer in STM32CubeIDE shows error symbol on the name of the project that I have but the when building the project, console window shows 0 errors. However I have ran the .elf file on Hardware without problems but I still worry about this error symbol.

I am currently working on testing of some code using a testing tool. As nearly all of the code interacts with the hardware, it is easiest for me to do this on the target. The tool automatically builds the test environment and allows files and/or functions to be tested as a whole or in isolation. In my case, I include all of the project's files in the test builds (so the functionality is available), selecting one of them at a time for white box testing.The only real problem I have is the startup code that exists within main() - this needs to be run to set up the clock tree, initialise the HAL, etc. The testing environment renames main() and adds its own main() so that it can control how the test cases I specify are executed and to allow the results to be captured.At the moment, I have to duplicate the code in the supplied main() so that I can initialise the system before any tests are executed. Hello everyone,I have issue with showing up names of tasks in the FreeRTOS Task List window during debugging. I have attached screen of the current issue. As we can see there are two tasks with incorrect names (only the first letter of each task is displaying). Did anyone have a similar problem? 

Hi all, I've a question.I created a new project and there I linked externally some user made modules with the command Import (Right click kn project name, then choose import, add the wanted modules and linked them into the project).I try to compile and everything was ok.Now my question: I need to exclude some files from compiling process, both in debug and release mode. I was able to exclude them by the command "Resource Configuration" but when I delete and import again the modules, and link them again to the project, I see that the compiling filters has been restored to default values meanwhile I need to keep the filters on everytime. There is a way to achieve this?

when I click open project from STM32CubeMx something tries to open then I get a python quit unexpectedly message, ok fine. then I try to open the project manually in the STM IDE only to find that there was no project file generated.can anyone advise me on what to do.CubeMx version: 6.11.1CubeIDE version: 1.15.1

Hi,With Keil uVision I could type to a console and reicieve that on target with SER_GetChar ().I implemented SER_GetChar () but the code below does not go to case 'a'.switch ( SER_GetChar() ) { case 'a' : dbg_print ( "Pressed 'a'\n" ); break; default : break; }What am I doing wrong ?Any idea how to recieve input from PC keyboard on target in a debug session, to replicate uVision's functionality ?Thank you

Hello everyone, I am new to STM32CubeIDE, I'm following this tutorial. In the tutorial, he pressed okay to a message saying "generate new code?"When he does, his project explorer showed thisI followed same steps, and when I pressed okay to "generate new code?" message, nothing appeared, only the ioc file. (I'm working on G0_LED project) can you assist on what might went wrong and how I can fix this issue?

RM0440 Reference manual table 2 say that the flash of this Micro is 256KB in single bank, at this point what is the page size and flash mapping? In stm32g4xx_hal_flash.h FLASH_PAGE_SIZE is 0x800U /* 2 KB */ and bit22 in User option bytes is SET .The project created with cubeide 1.15.1 map all flash in contiguous mode from 800000 to 803ffff.If I use more than 128KB seems to write the flash in contiguous mode, if I open the same project in STMCubeIDE 1.16.0 when I flash the firmware the operation fail, the only way to solve the proble is to split the code in 2 zones, one fro 0x800000 to 801ffff and one to 8040000 to 805ffff.Cubeprogrammer 2.16.0 show the block contiguos 0-255 from 8000000 to 807ffff while Cubeprogrammer 2.17.0 show blocks 0-63 from 8000000 to 801ffff and 65280-65343 from 8040000 to 805ffff.Whats wrong?Thanks

For some reason my I cant update my St link. Issue first came up as debug tool wasnt working properly. Trying again the IDE said no stlink detected when trying to debug the target.    it finds it correctly as shown in the screen shot below (running from the IDE) however after clicking open in update mode it disapears?      trying on the latest ST link update tool I get the following after a bit of thinking   clicking device connect again will just give no ST link device detected. Please connect it then retry.   Any idea what could be going wrong?

Hi all,I have a project that has been developed within STM32CubeIDE. I also have a github repository associated with the project. What I now want to do is branch the project to work on some other features. I may want to have two separate projects in  the future, one with the original features and one with the new features. I may also want to simply merge the branch at a later date and have only the project with the new features added. How can I do this while working within STM32CubeIDE? Obviously CubeIDE doesn't know that I've started a new branch, so any changes I make will be made to the same project within CubeIDE. Do I need to make a separate project within CubeIDE? How can I associate that with the new branch? I could simply copy the project within CubeIDE and make a new repository for the new project, but I'd like to keep everything within the same repository and just branch - the git intended. Any help with this would be great.
