STM32CubeMx not generating a project file on Mac

when I click open project from STM32CubeMx something tries to open then I get a python quit unexpectedly message, ok fine. then I try to open the project manually in the STM IDE only to find that there was no project file generated.

can anyone advise me on what to do.

CubeMx version: 6.11.1

CubeIDE version: 1.15.1

Can you please provide more details your macOS version.

Ensure that you have the correct version of "Software requirements" installed on your Mac as mentioned in the STM32CubeMX release 6.12.1 - Release note (page13)

I advise you to reinstalling CubeMX and CubeIDE tools and use the latest release that might resolve your issue.
