I downloaded the recent webinar for the MEMS & Sensors MOOC. I've run through labs 1-5 okay but have a code version issue in Lab6.The lab calls for using:  "In X-CUBE-MEMS1/MEMS, Class “Board Component�?: In AccGyr/LSM6DSO Selection I2C"My configuration is using STM32Cube V1.42 and my XCUBE-MEMS1 is updated to V8. But selecting Board Component there is only a v7.2 that is not compatible with STM32Cube 1.42.Is there a different package I should use to run the sensors MOOC on v1.4.2 or do I need to downgrade to make it work?I'm really looking forward to finishing all labs in this MOOC.Thanks,Brian

Dear ST, is it possbile to use LPS22HB as secondary sensor connected to LSM6DS3TR I2C master port with automatic readout of LPS22 registers? If yes, could you please recommend some examples / solution suggetsion on this on the firmware side?Thanks in advance!

Hi all,I just received a sensortile.box (the video posted here about streaming gyro data over USB catched my attention: https://blog.st.com/stm32cubeide-sensortilebox-lsm6dsox-videos/) but I am having trouble with the USB connection. I can charge the device over USB and also the connection over BLE incl. App upload and configuration, data streaming over BLE etc. on the phone seems to work just fine. What is not working is the connection via USB - especially to Unico. I can set the config parameter via the app to "stream over USB" but Unico refuses to identify the motherboard (Error - unknown device). Furthermore the Sensortile.box itself only appears as "serial device" in the device manager. Using various drivers (Virtual Com Drivers from Win8,...) did not do anything.

Hello all,I am currently facing some challenges with the lsm6dsox. If I use the embedded functions (single tap, double tap, tilt, 6D orientation, free fall and even step count) they work just great by themselves. If I now add custom code created with Unico for custom gestures I am not receiving any output from the decision tree. When I disable all embedded functions I can read the decision tree results just fine.Does anyone have any idea if embedded functions and custom UCF can not be used together? Or do I miss a certain setting? I could not find any information within the datasheet/documentation or this forum.Any information/feedback on this matter would be highly appreciated. =)----What I have tested so far:only embedded functions -> works greatonly custom decision tree -> works greatembedded functions + custom decision tree -> it seems only embedded fu

I wanted to use the following sensors on my next project. LPS35HWTRLSM9DS1TRSTC3100ISTUntil now we have used sensors from another company. Does ST provide an API? I have also looked into the Software packs in STM32CubeMX but I cannot find these devices.Thanks

According to the explanation of register CRA_REG_M, the highest of "Minimum data output rate" is 220 Hz. Dose it mean that it can output data in a speed more than 220 Hz when the value of CRA_REG_M is 00011100 ? Look forward to your reply.#lsm303dlhc #datasheet #speed of output data

I am working with an IIS2DLPC. Using i2c I can write to and receive ACKs from the accelerometer as expected. I can also view this on my o'scope. However, when I request a read of any register I always get 0x0. I am using a PIC16F1503 microprocessor running at 16MHz. At this point all that is in my code is my i2c bit banging code. I assume I have some sort of timing issue on the read but I am not sure how to find it or determine my issue. One thing to note, I have a function to wait for the bus to become idle. In this function there is a timeout in the event the clock is never released by the IIS2DLPC. This timeout seems to have no impact on the write operations. Again, I assume, because the clock is never released by the IIS2DLPC, I never receive the read. I inherited this code from a prior project with a different accelerometer. I search the net, and found a post with someone with a similar issue, but the link that was posted on the response is dead error 404.I was able to set up the significant motion event to trigger on int1 but it only seems to read 1 axis of the accelerometer. And depending on its position it might never triggers the interruptWhat I would like to do is set up a "wake up" interrupt, that happens when motion is detected on any of the accelerometer axis.Do you have any examples or sample code of this being implemented?The one in the AN4650 never triggers no matter how i shake my board.Thank you.Luis.

Hi,I have a test program that works for our old board that uses I2C LSM303AGR. Now we have a new board with LSM303AGR and the test program does not work. Hi,The code that I used for my SensorTile is : https://bit.ly/2XU08G8 (Just please click on the GET Software - I use the code in the folder of Data Log).The code is for USB log and SD card log. For the SD card, it needs to double tap the SensorTile to trig it. However, the USB log works exactly after turning on the device. As for my project, I need to disable its double tap and just work right after turning on the SensorTile and log data on the SD card, the same as its USB in the provided software.I am wondering if please let me know how can I change the software to enable its SD card logging logs right after turning on the SensorTile without triggering it with double tapping.I really appreciate your time and help.Looking forward to hearing from you soon.John

Hi,I'm working on a smartwatch and looking for a suitable accelerometer. I basically only need to do the following:Generate an interrupt when the watch is in viewing position (e.g. horizontal and tilted towards the user)Generate an interrupt for a single tap and a double tapGenerate an interrupt for free-fallHave a low power consumptionDue to other electronics, it should be able to handle a supply of both 1.8V and 3.3V.It seems that the LIS2DS12 works great, but it can't tolerate 3.3V. The LIS2DH12 tolerates the supply and can interrupt on the viewing position (with wake-up recognition), but not on taps. The LIS2DW12 can interrupt on taps, but as far as I know not on viewing position.I'm now thinking of using the LIS2DW12 with a tilt offset, and generate an interrupt on the 6D positions, which I then need to check with the microcontroller for the right one. I'm using the LSM6DSO sensor in a condition monitoring situation. I've compared it against an industrialised analogue sensor in a repeatable testing situation. The LSM6DSO registered a pk reading 0.69 in the X axis and the industrial sensor had a reading of 0.5 in the X axis. This is a pretty significant difference in results, I was wondering if anyone had any general initialisation steps that might make the results a little better. For reference the sensor is currently setup using FIFO mode high performance enabled with just the high pass filter enabled at ODR_DIV_200. The gyroscope has been disabled.

I tried using an M41T62 with Arduino and them STM32L476RG via Arduino IDE and Mbed. For both cases, I noticed that the chip fails to update time after setting the time.I noticed that when i touch the oscillator inputs, the time starts updating. I know why this is happening and the solution would be to connect an external 32 KHz oscillator to the osc pins, however, I want to use the internal oscillator.Can someone provide me an Arduino or Mbed code to activate the internal oscillator?

I wrote some patterns for three-axis state machine based on MKI134V1. Now I need to import that patterns into six-axis state machine based on MKI196V1. I used standart button "load" but nothing worked. I can't find user manual with examples six-axis state machine like I found for three-axis . I am trying to connect a vl53l1 sensor to stm32f030f4.I can't figure out how to set up I2cThe user manual says that this is done in a VL53L1_platform.h file, but there are no instructions on how to do it.

Hello everyone,currently I am working on a E-Compass and I totally understand the calculations for the tilt compensation. So i wanted a higher accuracy and looked into DT0060 and everything works fine, but I don't understand where those calculations in Step 1 come from and after asking STM support they told me to ask in the community.I hope someone is nice enough to tell me or give me a hint. It doesn't seem to come from rotation matrices, because both solutions from multiplying the rotation matrices from a rotation around the x axis and around the y axis (only phi and theta is used, so I assume the z-axis rotation matrix isn't necessary) are very different from the matrix used to calculate the derivatives.Have a nice day!

Hello, there,I would like to know about the application of FSM feature of LSM6DSO sensor.I can see in the example that every embedded functions are implemented using FSM. Hi everybody,I would like to have your opinion about waking up a microcontroller using LIS3DSH sensor. I have two different motion and only one of them should wake up the controller.The micro is a STM32L486.The sensor is assembled on a board and the board is fixed on a metal box, only one axis has to be monitored, the box will move along Z axis with the two possible motions:1) Vertical position is a sort of sine wave with an amplitude of only 10cm and a period of 1sec2) straight movement for 10 second lifting the box up to 1.5mThe two motions are quite different and only the straight movement should wake up di microcontroller, do you thing this is something doable using the LIS3DSH SM embedded into the device?Any advice will be appreciatedThanksJule
