I believe there is a unclear statement about FIFO address auto inreasement and 8-bit sub address issue; here is two explanation from the datasheet;8bit sub address auto inrease : (page 25 6.1.1 I2C operation)... 7 LSb represent the actual register address while the MSB enables address auto increment. If the MSb of the SUB field is ‘1’, the SUB (register address) is automatically increased to allow multiple data read/writes...5.1.5 Retrieving data from FIFO (page 23)...The address to be read is automatically updated by the device and it rolls back to 0x28 when register 0x2D is reached. In order to read all FIFO levels in a multiple byte read, 192 bytes (6 output registers of 32 levels) have to be read....Can we say if we read start to read by 0x28 it will automatically rollback once it reaches to 0x2d , but i dont see any info what will happen if i will set the 8th bit of the 0X28 address ?

Is there any technical data regarding when the FIFO becomes functional after power up? I have noticed I2C comms and registers can be accessed quite quickly but if the FIFO is initialised too early (e.g. going into FIFO mode), it never starts storing data, despite the relevant configuration registers being perfectly correct. My guess is that it is something to do with the need to come out of bypass mode and if this is done too early after power up, it doesn't work. Have any ST support personnel any details?

HelloI have advanced in my tests and in the realization of my product via the st APIs for the VL6180X, I need to carry out an interrupt during the detection of the target (my hand), I set my interrupt thresholds with sample_interrupt.c, however I want to run the LED with a Timer to indicate the interrupt time. Which file should be modified to achieve this? If you have any other information that might help me, we are interested. Thank you.Regards,Myveck

I recently bought X-NUCLEO-53L0A1 to evaluate the distance sensor. My application requires accuracy of 1mm at the least.PFA video file showing my evaluation. Pls open the file with appropriate media player.As you can see, there is 2 to 3mm fluctuation in the distance measurement in HIGH ACCURACY mode. The fluctuation is on both -ve and +ve sides. It is not predictable.I wanted to know whether it is possible to achieve 1mm accuracy using this sensor in realtime scenario (not in perfect lab environment) ?

Hello! I recently started working with STM32 MCUs and I want to set up a Time Of Flight sensor using STM32F072C8. I have set up other sensors with my board but not with I2C. I'm familiar with the I2C protocol but after reading the datasheet I don't know where to begin. Thanks in advance.

In the datasheet, it says the gyroscope in the LSM6DSO is 1LSb = 70 mdps at +/-2000 dps full scale. I'm curious how this is obtained. For a signed 16-bit number I get 2000 / 32768 = 61mdps.For the accelerometer, 1LSb = 0.061 mg at +/- 2g full scale, which I agree with. 2 / 32768 = 0.061 mg.Where does the discrepancy come from in my gyroscope calculation? Is it simply that the gyroscope is not sensitive enough to realize the ideal angular rate precision?

Running USB_DataLog_Run.bat the results is: no devices. I installed STM32CubeProgrammer, and the software correctly work. Do you have any suggestions?Thanks

Connect STEVAL-STWINKT1 and PC. Execute USB_DataLog_Run.bat of 1.1 USB mode-command line example described in the user manual "UM2686". However, it says no device.

Hi, I recently acquired the STWIN board, working on predictive maintenance, High-speed data logging, Serial data logging applications.I need to interface an external temperature sensor DS18B20 using the one-wire protocol.I want to integrate my code into Data log application provided by ST, but i don't find any design document or firmware flow document, Can anyone help me to extend the Serial data log application to cater more sensors? Any help will be appreciated.

HiOut of the Box, there is a luxury firmware on board running, with many Sensors shown in the BLE App.But after flashing other example Projects, there is no code or binary file with the initial firmware.Where to get this?Greetings

Hey,we have a bunch of sensor tile.box boards, but they keep dying and needs to be refreshed with the OTA. - even with the newest FWis usually happens when we try to "play" a new app (made in expert view of the ST app)When is works, the data gets truncated from time to time (we log to SD) also - is it possible to get a binary of the default app? OTA takes so long...

The chip is powered by an 3v3 LDO. I have measured the output, and there are no fall-outs. I suspect my I2C adapter to be doing it. On-board the I2C is pulled up to 3v3 by 2k2 resistors. But on the adapter the I2C gets pulled up to 5V also by 2k2 resistors. Could this be an issue?

I'm using the STEVAL-MKI109v3 demo board with the STEVAL-MKI193 IMU. I'd like to evaluate use of the FIFO. I've written a custom PC application based on the Unico Lite demo application. I can read from the FIFO registers properly, but it is really slow. It takes 2-3 seconds to read the entire 3k FIFO. How do I read the FIFO faster? I've notice the "STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port" driver defaults 9600bps. This could be the problem. Thank you.

I compiled the st_imu68_i2c driver for use with a 4.14 linux kernel with the industrial IO subsystem successfully. And I could read values from the device using the files that provide the "raw" values. However, it is very slow when I just cat the raw values very fast. Normally, in IIO you can define a hrtimer with scan_elements, but the iio device you get from the linux driver does not contain such a 'scan_elements' subdir so it seems I can't attach a hrtimer trigger to it. However, there is a sample_frequency file, but not clear to me what this then does or how it is supposed to work. Is there maybe a high level overview documentation somewhere of how you can get the values faster?

I'm testing a system with a number of ISM330DHCX, generating the CE signals apart from the SPI component. Having a number of sensors on the bus (by means of CE only one of them active at any given time) I read sometimes a wrong WHO_AM_I-value. Bus clock is fine, there is no mis-interpretation, there are wrong data on the bus, but the sensor itself seems ok too (correct values when testing in different combination). I don't know what to look for - any ideas?

When exposing sensor to a piece of metal, the values reported go up. After removing the metal object, the values reported go down, but not to the original set of values for some reason. We want the system to gi back to original values. How do we do this?

The device I am developping on is on top of the manhole at 3-4 meters high and I need a 2-5 mm precision or so. I look forward for an idea. Looking at basic laser meters to take measurements, they all are capable of doing what I am looking for, but can't find what technology/sensor they use to make it happen... Any insight would be appreciated.Thanks!

I would like to integrate Gravity VL53L0X to the STM 32 LoRa Discovery Kit, B-L072Z-LRWAN1. Is it possible that I can port part of the code from X-CUBE-53L0A1 into I-CUBE-LRWAN?Or what code or setting I need to include in I-CUBE-LRWAN?Basically, I want the LoRa module on the Discovery Kit to read VL53L0X sensor and the data.Any other hardware connection I should take note?

Hello,i want lis2hh12 to scan for x,y and z-value with 10Hz.When signals are ready i want to get a DRDY signal on INT2.When i read out the data via SPI the INT2 shall become low.My problem is that INT2 is high and it never goes low.My configuration:CTRL1 = 0x97CTRL2 = 0x00CTRL3 = 0x00CTRL4 = 0x06CTRL5 = 0x00CTRL6 = 0x01CTRL7 = 0x00Reading out of x,y and z values does work.Temperature does also work.Only the information via INT2 that data is ready does not work.I hope anyone can help.Thanks a lot,Holger
