I'm using the device in STREAM mode, with BDU=1.The datasheet says that PRESS_OUT_H must be the last read (enables an update).In one of my experiments it appears that it's actually a read from TEMP_OUT_H that causes an update.I've also noticed that several code examples read TEMP_OUT_H as last, not PRESS_OUT_H.Could this be a typo in the datasheet? Has anyone seen this behavior too?

Hi,I am using a LSM9DS1 IMU on a custom PCB for the development of a dead reckoning feature.First step is quaternion calculation, and in order for this to be precise and reliable, sensors data have to be too. However, I'm having issues with the magnetometer. Even after having correctly calibrated it for hard and soft iron errors (bias + correction matrix), heading calculation using calibrated magnetometer data seems to be off.As so I was wondering if it could come from my PCB layout, and in particular the positioning of the LSM9DS1. Are there any restrictions/must-do concerning this position, that could otherwise mess with the magnetometer ? I have a SensorTile kit, right out of the box. STEVAL-STLKt01V1. With the ST BLESensor app on iOS, I can connect to the SentorTile and get temperature, etc. When I try to request a license for any of the libraries, the wizard forms an email to open.license@st.com . I send the email, but I get an error message back:Your message wasn't delivered to open.license@st.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail. I've searched high and low and can't find a working email address. I've tried open.mems@st.com, which I found on one document, but it yields the same message. What's the correct email address? I've done a lot of testings with two IIS3DHHC and everything seems fine. Suddenly one of the IIS3DHHC seems to lost the factory calibration. Is this possible? A lot of the tests have been done below freezing point -10C degree.In our solution, the Vdd_IO is 0.25V above Vdd and I see in datasheet that max 0.1V is allowed, could this be a reason for this error?

I want to measure the tilt angle with an accuracy of +/-3°, with the IIS328 accelerometer. The datasheet states that the sensitivity varies between 0.9...1.1 mg/digit. Does this variation also apply between the axis, so that e.g. X-axis can have sensitivity of 0.9 and Z-axis 1.1? This would at 45° result in an error of 5.7° (arctan(1.1/0.9)-45), right?Do I interpret the datasheet correctly? In order to reach my goal of +/-3° accuracy, what calibration method is required?

Hello,right now I am struggling on implemeting the two buildt in MP34DT01 MEMS microphones on the B-L475E-IOT01A1 eval board while using the existing Cloud Generic Example Code. I think my biggest problem right now is to get teh DFSDM running as I get a little bit lost in the existing project structure. So my question is, if someone already implemented those microphones in the given code example and can run me through or provide some source/header files.Kind regardsSimon

When manually polling (single measurement mode) the LSM303AGR at rates such as 50Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz), the current consumption appears to be double would it should be.I would expect similar consumption values to what I get using the continuous mode at the same rate, yet I seem to be consuming around double the current, irregardless of offset cancellation settings (BTW, I would expect offset cancellation to NOT be doing a double read in single measurement mode, given the way the datasheet is written).Does single measurement mode consume do a double read of the field, or otherwise consume twice the current, as compared to continuous mode (where offset cancellation is disabled in continuous mode) .NOTE: temperature compensation is enabled under my test conditions.

There is any workaround for doing this with a LSM6DSL? I understand the available interruptions like WAKE_UP, significant movement,4D, 6D..... are designed for other kind of uses, mainly smartphones and wearables.But I need an interruption old-style like cheap models when X,Y,Z changes more than a number of mg. Is there any workaround or technique for this?I need the interruption to save power on MCU by not waking up until a movement of the device is found.The only hope I have right now for doing this, just filling the never ending FIFO and waking-up MCU for processing data outside the LSM6DSL.Thanks a lot, best regards,David

I am currently working on the LIS2DE12 accelerometer. I've been reading the datasheet and I was a little confused with the interrupt configuration. The datasheet says the device provides 2 interupt pins (INT1 and INT2). 1. My understanding is that you can use either the INT1 pin or the INT2 pin. Is this correct?What's the reccommended practice?2. In the CTRL_REG6 register, there are two bits I2_IA1 and I2_IA2 for configuring interrupts. Specifically what does "interrupt 1 function", interrupt 2 function" and "activity interrupt" mean?Thanks

 The general API user guide, UM2356 (rev 2), says that the min timing budget is 20ms, but the ultra-lite driver guide, UM2510 (rev2), says 15ms is the minimum. I've tested with 15ms (I'm using the ULD) and it seems to work fine, but just wanted to make sure that is within the recommended operating range.Similarly, for the inter-measurement period (IMP), the two guides give different info. The ULD guide says the min is greater than or equal to the timing budget, whereas the generic guide says it must be at least the timing budget + 4ms. Wondering which one is correct? The ULD also further confuses matters by showing a timing diagram that seems to indicate the 'get ranging data' and 'clear interrupt' operations occur after the timing budget has expired. So it seems that if I want to run multiple sensors on the same I2C bus (which I do), I might need to take into account that extra time before I can move on to the next sensor? Dear members,I am currently trying to interface Arduino Atmega 328p with VL6180X via I2C Bus. I have prepared basic code for reading Range value in single shot and continuous  mode, it is working file. Now I changed I2C SCL to 100 KHz, 50 KHz, 20 KHz , sensor seems to be working file. I have connected DSO Oscilloscope and checked the I2C data frames, everything seems to be fine.Now due to project requirement  I must use I2C SCL = 10 KHz only. With this freq, the data value always remains to either 0 or 255, and the RESULT__RANGE_STATUS registe r(0x04D) has value 0x01. I tried disabling sysrange__early_convergence_enable from register SYSRANGE__RANGE_CHECK_ENABLES (0x02D), still no help.Surprisingly I can read device ID (IDENTIFICATION__MODEL_ID) at this frequency, which confirms that there is no any issue on I2C side. I suspect there is some issue on writing register value or some timing parameter on sensor side.

In my initial testing with the VL53L1X, I'm seeing that by rotating the sensor from directly facing an object to facing the ceiling, which is well over the max distance away (I'm operating in 'short' mode, so that should be 1.3m), I get spikes up to about 1.8m at the max acceleration points - when I stop rotating the PCB, and when I start rotating it again. Is this kind of 'overshoot' normal? Interestingly, I observe it with 100ms timing budget/inter-measurement period, but not with 15ms (see attached graphs).

The project involved some mechanical problem solving to get to the point of testing that I am at now.The LSM6DS3 is embedded in a solid object at rest in an unknown orientation, that will be subject to an impact vector. After the impact occurs, the solid body will have a rotational velocity. I am successfully able to measure the gravitational vector using the accelerometer while at rest, detect the impact using the single tap feature to start the FIFO record immediately after impact, accumulate some gyroscope data, and then take the cross product of the gyroscope data and the gravitational vector to detect the solid body rotational vector.I have tested and verified that the gyroscope data behaves as expected before the impact. What would be a good accelerometer to be used in a product to detect if it has been dropped? The idea is to build a battery-powered subsystem for an (expensive) medical equipment to track improper handling (e.g. drop or tilt) during transport or during operation which might impact product performance. We would also be interested in a reference design for the whole subsystem incl. Hi, I want to store the initial calibrated offset in Offset Registers of Magnetometer LSM9DS1. After storing the calibrated offset, the actual readings are not changing and they are almost constant . By doing manual subtraction using calibration offset from the the raw values give me the correct heading from 0-360 and aligned as well. which means the calibrated offset is correct. But saving it in Offset Registers is not giving the correct values automatically. It is not even allowing the variation of heading from 0-360. Any one has used Offset Registers for automatic correction? Any advice? I saved and in offset register and read back and did manual subtraction and it worked. But it is not doing this automatically.
