I am using lsm6ds3 Acc+ Gyro. We are trying to detect the acceleration irrespective of Direction of Accelerometer. But we are not getting the results as expected.

Hi,I was playing around with Unico and I saw it has an inclinometer function. Is the code for that window available:? I tried an implementation with Kalman filter, but the Unico seems to show the angles much better.Regards,Gabriel

Hi, we are using LSM6DSL, and we are developing the self-test procedure. The Self-test algorithm for LSM6DSL is described in AN5040 Application note, but we don't know the values |min(ST_X)|, |max(ST_X)|,|min(ST_Y)|, |max(ST_Y)||min(ST_Z)|, |max(ST_Z)| etc. Are they constants? What are they values?Thanks In AdvanceMassimo Ceschi

I was trying to debug a driver written by another developer and I noticed they setup CTRL_REG1 through CTRL_REG6 with a 5ms delay between each register write. I asked the developer the reason for the delays and they said that if the registers were written with no delay sometimes the LIS2DH would just ignore some of the writes but if delays were inserted everything went fine. I scoured the web for LIS2DH driver examples and most of the drivers I found wrote all the registers sequentially with no delay (only 1 driver I found used a 1ms delay). Has anyone noticed an issue like this before? I did notice one thing in the driver I'm working with that diffs from some of the other drivers I found. In the driver I'm working with, CTRL_REG1 is written first and the ODR bits are set to the desired frequency before any of the other registers are configured! This seems pretty odd because the ODR bits start the accelerometer, right? So shouldn't everything be configured and the the ODR bits set l

My LIS3MDL eCompass IC output always reads (X=32764) for the X axis.Axis y and z seem to read ok, with changing values during operation.Why is this occurring?The first day of use the LIS3MDL worked OK, with X,Y,and Z axis having unique and changing values.The second day I waved a small magnet around near the sensor to see how the output would vary.A few minutes later, the X Axis value froze to 32764.I checked online, and other people have had the SAME issue!! What is special about the value 32764? Hello.We are designing a HW with LSM9DS1 inertial chip. There are C1 capacitor recommended to be 100 nF and C5 to be 10 nF +- 10%, but we have not these values in our BOM so it would be an extra part type. Have these parts some allowed range of capacity to be selected from or these values are mandatory to proper function?Thank you.Ondrej

Hi,I am using a Nucleo-F446RE board with an IFS01A2 to build an eCompass.I have built a project using CubeMX v5.2.1 and Atollic Truestudio v9.1.To start with I made sure that I was able to communicate with the different mems sensors and I am successfully receiving acceleration and magnetometer data from the LSM303AGR so I know that the boards and toolchain work as expected. I have included the MotionEC_CM4F_wc32_ot library which I believe I need for the F446 and the header file. I have also enabled the CRC in CubeMX.I can successfully call functions like MotionEC_GetLibVersion or MotionEC_SetFrequency which build and run as expected.My problem starts when I try to call MotionEC_Initialize. This builds but will not run and results in a HardFault. I can't see what is causing the fault. Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong. Much appreciatedNevUpdate:Digging further

Hi. I want to use VL53L1x time-of-flight sensors in following scenarios:detect an empty hand and a hand with an item using gesture detection approach;detect the product movement up or down. Have done several tests to understand the dependence between different parameters: ambient rate, signal rate, amount of effective SPADs and range. Have used different conditions (empty hand, small and huge boxes, office environment light and light from the window and so on), but couldn’t come up with any conclusions.For movement, I could use ST example for people counting, okay. But cannot find a solution for empty hand detection. Need suggestions on how I can improve object detection and movement (multiple ROI). Thanks.

Is it possible to generate an interrupt on INT_M when the Magnetometer data is ready (in the same way you can with the Acc/Gyro)?

Hi I'm currently implementing a crash detector in our device. And it works quite fine, but I think the received values are not correct. The sensor is on a PCB which is already delivered and should be enabled as a new feature in the future. So they developer has only connected one interrupt. Hi ,I'm trying to read the accelerometer data from the LIS2DH12TR which is connected to CC1310 TI's Controller.In my design I'm using I2C hence i have connected the CS pin to Vdd(3.3V) and SA0 pin to VDD. Hi,My company is starting to develop an environmental sensor and we've found the LPS33W sensor to be a nice choice. I have 3 questions surrounding this sensor.I've just found the LPS33HW, that seems to be the same sensor but launched a couple of years ago. I would like to know the main differences among them and wether if you recommend one or another for withstanding countryside environmental conditions (they will be installed for monitoring crops).We've been using the LPS33W sensor with the evaluation board (STEVAL-MKI205V1) and I see that there are some holes for mounting a cap. Could you please provide a reference for finding these kind of caps?The application of the sensor is sensing the pressure of the air in the countryside, and it will be quite exposed to the dust produced while working on the crops and the case of the sensor might also get some plant protection products. Posted on January 23, 2017 at 18:28I implemented the VL53L0X API in my embedded project. while the call to DataInit works fine (or, at least returns a status OK), I am getting a VL53L0X_ERROR_REF_SPAD_INIT from StaticInit.Any ideas what this means? Also, is there some way that I can simply verify that I2C communication to the device is working? Maybe some registers that have known values on startup? I saw the examples in the datasheet, but I'd like a larger block so I could test 32bit, 16bit and 8bit reads and writes. The examples are only detailed enough to cover an 8 and 16 bit write.Thanks,Chris

Now in this sensor I need to write my own function to obtain the quaternions and then based on that obtain the roll, pitch and yaw of the system. The question that I have is , does ST provide an IMU that already has on board motion processing that can calculate and return the quaternions ? Thank you

Hi,I want to measure a static object and approximate tilt angle with accelerometer only data.With 303AGR e-compass I can easily configure the filters so a low pass filter can be set up in no time.With LSM6DSL I am a bit lost on where or what filter I have to setup in order to achieve the same (a extremely low-pass filter, below 1Hz).Thanks!
