We are trying to use the FIFO on the LSM6DSL to get accelerometer data, gyroscope data and time stamps at 833Hz. Though we have followed the directions in the Applications Note, we are still not getting correct data from the FIFO. The data appears scrambled. I have been checking the pattern registers before retrieving the FIFO data, and they return 0, which I believe means the next sample should be Gyro-X. Based off the Applications note (and since both the gyroscope and accelerometer are set to 833Hz), I expect the next samples to be Gyro-Y, Gyro-Z, Accel-X, Accel-Y, Accel-Z, Timestamp. Is that the correct order? If so, do you have any ideas about why the data might be incorrect? I included a snapshot of some of the data was have been getting. The IMU number is just to keep track of which IMU we are sampling, since we have an array of multiple IMUs. Thank you!

Dear Community,I am excited to get started with the IIS3DHHC sensor in combination with an Arduino Teensy. I have been working before with the Analog Devices ADXL355, I've successfully wrote a program for this, but I have difficulties knowing if I'm going into the right direction with the IIS3DHHC. I am not sure if I am using the right SPI Mode. HelloI want to use the IIS2MDC magnetometer in a device which measures magnetic fields that change rapidly as a function of position (e.g. fields with high gradients). For this purpose, I need to know two things which i couldn't find in the datasheet:The position of the hall plates within the package LGA-12 (Section 9.1 of the datasheet of the IIS2MDC )The geometrical extent of the hall sensors (for example 250um x 250 um)Does anyone have this information, it would greatly help me!Thanks very much

Help me? I don't understand how has obtained vector X (Equation 27-29, page 28-29, AN 3192)?

I am assuming that since they can be configured as push-pull or open drain that they are likely active low, but I would like to confirm this assumption. It seems odd that there is nothing in the datasheet about these pins -- only info about their software configurations

Hi,I am attempting to port the MotionFX Library example to another processor. The project I am using as a reference is the DataLogFusion project for the STM32L476RG-Nucleo in the X-CUBE-MEMS1 V6.0.1. I am trying to compile it on another ARM Cortex M4F Processor and am getting the following error:Output/Release/Exe/project.elf uses VFP register arguments, ./STM32_MotionFX_Library/Lib/MotionFX_CM4F_wc32_ot.a(motion_fx.o) does notIt seems as the MotionFX Library has been compiled using software floating points and does not utilise the FPU. Is this so it can also be used on the M4? Are there any available pre-compiled versions of the library using the FPU on the M4F?

Hello everyone, I'm developing an IoT product with the LIS3DH and I'm thinking about running the self-test regularly this could be anything between 30 minutes and 2 hours; would this kind of behavior impact the life of the sensor? is there any data or recommendations for running the self-test regularly ?

Though the maximum range of the VL53L1X is 400cm, it gives random readings within 400cm when it is directed to open space. The VL53L0X gives a value about 8.1m for out of range measurements so that we can filter out them. But in VL53L1X there is no way to identify out of range readings. Here are some readings I got when it is directed to the free space. (4.156,3.568,1.240,3.568,1.165). Any idea to fix this issue?

Hi all,I am trying to get the VL6180X to work with my TI MSP432P401R Microcontroller. I purchased my VL6180X on a breakout board manufactured by Adafruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/3316). I have gotten it working with an Arduino just to verify that the sensor is functional, and I am using the libraries created by Adafruit specifically for the VL6180X sensor (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_VL6180X). However, when I try to use it with my TI microcontroller, it stops working. On my TI microcontroller, I have essentially copied the Adafruit Arduino code and modified it slightly so that it can work with the TI microcontroller. The I2C read function works fine, and I am able to confirm this by reading the device ID from register 0x0000. I am checking the RESULT_RANGE_STATUS register (0x04D) before I start a range measurement, and I am getting a register value of decimal 25, which would be binary 00011001. Hi all, I'm trying to bring up an LSM6DSM (MKI189 dev board) via SPI using a Nucleo and the STM C libraries for it. I've had some luck but I'm getting extremely unreliable SPI communication ( MISO line specifically ). For starters when I read the WhoAmI register I sometimes read 0x6A as expected but I read a number of other things as well ( 0x60, 0x40, 0x44 ) are common.I've been trying to use the logic analyzer to figure out what's going on and I've noticed that depending on how the board feels having the Logic Analyzer (Saleae) attached can make things better or worse. I have my code reading the register every 100ms and I'll try disconnecting/reconnecting the harness from the logic analyzer. Sometimes plugging it in make it impossible to read the correct value and sometimes unplugging it makes it impossible. During the transition of plugging in/unplugging it almost always is able to read the correct value. I suspected noisy lines at first but I'm running at 20kHz now

I am trying to use BNO055 with STM32F407VG discovery board. I got the API from here. In the API example file, it says just adjust the read and write functions.Here is the main code I work on. Hi,I have a problem when develop with LSM6DS3.After config the active/inactive event to INT1, keep still, the interrupt(inactive event) will happen ,if i do not read 6-axis sensor data.When i read the 6-axis sensor data every 100ms by a timer callback, also keep still, the interrupt never happen.I want to know the reason that interrupt do not happen, if i miss anything in datasheet ?

Hi,I am using the LIS3MDL in a battery powered data logging application. I would like to be able to "reset" the part, but I do not understand the difference between the REBOOT and SOFT_RST bits in CNTRL_REG2 (21h). Page 25 of the LIS3MDL data sheet (Rev 6) states that REBOOT "Reboot memory content." What memory content? Specifically, which registers? or is these memory locations that are not accessible? How is this different from power-cycling the part?On the same page, the data sheet states that SOFT_RST "Configuration registers and user register reset function." This is more self explanatory, but how is it different from REBOOT? Is SOFT_RST a subset of REBOOT?How is the reset/soft-reset used? I assume the process is to write to CRTL_REG2 with either REBOOT or SOFT_RST set, delay, write with bits cleared? Or do the bits clear themselves after the reboot/soft-reset is complete?Thank you,Nick

The LSM6DS3 has two "reboot" style operations. I've read spec sheets and appnotes but can't find a clear description of one of them.BOOT (CTRL3_C bit 7) appears to freshly load the "trimming parameters", which I presume are factory values written to compensate for normal production variances. BOOT does not sound like an actual "reboot" (like a power cycle) of the device.SW_RESET (CTRL3_C bit 0) is described as "software reset", which sounds like the equivalent of a power cycle. However the spec sheet also mentions "after next flash boot", which makes it sound like more than just a power-cycle equivalent. If SW_RESET is indeed the same as a power cycle, you'd think it would also load the trimming parameters. Yet the appnote says the following:"The reboot and the sw reset must not be executed at the same time (do not set to 1 at the same time both the BOOT bit and SW_RESET bit of CTRL3_C register). Posted on January 02, 2018 at 15:59HI everybody,I'm working with the LIS2DH for a motion sensor, and I'm using the embbeded functions of motion detection for drive the state machine of my MCU.The operation is simple, but I have some trouble with the sensor.I want to detect a movement if the duration is min 5sec, and I want to detect End of movement if the duration is 5sec.  So I use the IA1 funtion with INT1 output for detection movement.And IA2 function with INT2 output for End of movement detection.Both INT output are OK with the detection, but I have non stable operation. Sometimes the INT1 toggles witout reason, sometime it's INT2.....So if you run with the sensor in your hand, the INT1 output is high after 5sec. And if you put the sensor on the floor, the INT2 output is high after 5sec.Sample is 1Hz ,Range is 2G.High filter is set.INT1_CFG is set to High level

Hi I'm trying to implement the VL53L1X with a TinyK20 freedom board.I have problem with the method VL53L1_trace_print_module_function. So i don't find this method in a C file, only in a Header(VL53L1X_platform_log.h). Do i have to write a C file for that? When I compare with the VL53L0X, there is a C file that implement this method(VL53L0x_platform.log.c).
