Hi, All!I'm using LIS3DHTR with range:2G, sensitivity:1mg/digit, HR:1.Now I get the raw value like these:X=-4800 Y=432 Z=15136These value are from the sensor which quietly placed on the table(sensor faced -Z on the table).If I get the "g" value ...float x[g] = (float)X / 16 / 1000 ... Is this calculation correct ???

Hi,I am trying to read Z-axis acceleration from LSM303C at rest. The device returns 0x41 for who am I register (same as datasheet). But it gives zero values for z-axis acceleration at rest. Attached is my code. Please let me know if there is an issue with the code and why it is not giving 1g for z-axis at rest. Thanks. Hi I am considering LIS3MDL to detect the presence of car in parking space by measuring the change in magnetic field. Has anyone worked on this LIS3MDL for similar application? Would you please share your experience / comments?ThanksSilas

I am using this Accelerometer and in the datasheet it is mentioned that the Bit 4(LPC) in CTRL_REG1 should set for the Proper operation of the Device,but when i set that device the Sensor ,i am not getting any values in that, i want to know ,is it really need to be setted for the proper operation of the device

LIS3DH is configured with ADC enabled, and temperature disabled.When the same voltage is applied to all the 3 ADC inputs, the ADC reading on the first 2 inputs are matching and in line with the expected readings. However, the 3rd input show a constant offset compared to the other 2 inputs. On 2 different PCBs, this offset is different: 18 and 24 ADC steps.Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to calibrate the ADC?Thanks,Marco

The digital IO of pressure and temperature is nice, but we can also use an analog output. The digital is good for a new high volume project, but we need an analog output for a current application. Small size and low power requirements are also important as the instruments are portable and battery powered for extended periods.Depending on the specific application, the environment exposes the sensor pressure input to sea water, industrial cooling water, and the stomach contents of cattle...rather a wide range but very challenging for an un-protected sensor.

Dear all,I am new to the BlueNRG devices and the BlueMic-1 board. I am trying to adapt the BlueVoice example both in the firmware and in the ST BLE Sensor Android App to be able to log both the audio and the inertial data simultaneously.For what I saw so far, this is not done because the data is sent in different events.Can anyone give me an insight on how to best adapt the example code to transmit all sensor data simultaneously?Kind regardsLeo

My question concerns the ZYXDA status bit of STATUS_REG (27h)If I'm reading data out at a significantly lower rate (e.g. 25Hz) than the device is internally generating data (100Hz) is there any need to monitor this status bit?Asked another way, Can I asynchronously read back from the device as long as I'm doing so slower than the device is converting? Or alternatively, is the last conversion buffered?- I'm not at all concerned about data over-runs.The data sheet implies there may be a loss of precision if you don't stay synchronized with the conversion process. I just don't have the resources to poll that data available bit continuously.NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. I am using the LIS3MDL in continuous conversion mode - high speed at 1KHz. Intermittently it stops converting, the data ready line stays low. I can do a soft reset and the part does not recover. The only way I can recover the part is to power cycle it. I saw where one user said it would stop for about 63 seconds but I seem to be seeing it longer. Is there anyway I can recover the part?Background, I am using SPI at 1MHz data rate and interfaced to an STM32F407 interrogating the part with DMA.The Register settings are:CR1: 0X82CR2: 00CR3: 00CR4: 02CR5: 0X40

I have a product that uses LIS2DH12 to detect the lack of motion and generates the interrupt. I configured the INT2_CFG(34h) to 15h, INT2_THS(36h) to 0Fh, INT2_DURATION(37h) to 20h. Reading INT2_SRC(35h) gives the response as XXX1X1X1 when the product is lack of motion. What I do not understand is that what happened to the gravitational acceleration? Could the lack of motion detection fail if the sensor is orientated at 45 degree to all axes (all X, Y, Z axis)? The gravitational force appear in all axes (bigger than the threshold for the interrupt causes the failure in detection. Or it is actually the delta of the reading is being used to generate the interrupt?

Hello,We have integrated VL6180X proximity sensor with our Nordic chip. With help of ST application note we have prepared library for VL6180X sensor. We have consider all necessary setting mentioned in application note. We are facing one strange issue. We are successfully getting range uptill 50mm but once object crosses 50mm it always show 255mm. We tried many things like putting delay, changing I2C clock, switching to continuous mode but no luck till now. I am attaching my VL6180X library and header file. I'm working through the UCLA Sensortile course. I have the Sensortile and a Nucleo board connected to my Mac (2018 MBP w Mojave). I see /dev/cu.usbmodem1303 but I do not see the Sensortile device.I don't need a virtual driver on a Mac correct?

With regard to the LIS2DW12 (or other I2C/SPI MEM accel) what stops the I2C seeing SPI traffic when the CS is high and another device on the SPI bus is being clocked. Will the MEM accel try to interpret the SPI data as I2C and end up corrupting the SPI data? Or is it like other MEM sensors that is CS is low at power up it switches to SPI mode and the I2C mode is disabled (until the next power cycle...)

What are the differences and advantages between the LIS2DH12 and LIS2DW12 ?Please let me know if I do want to use this sensor for detection the device is not moving in any directions (NO MOTION) at very low current consumption then which ONE i should pick.Thanks

Hi everyone,I'm realizing my application that trigger an interrupt when a movement is detected, with a LIS3DSH sensor.The states machines do the check correctly and give me an interrupt in right way, and I saw that when the states machines restart the interrupt remains asserted (the interrupt is set as active High). I'm using the LIS3DSH on an STEVAL_MKI109V3 with the STM unico IDE.Now I want to know if there is a way to put LOW the interrupt pin each time states machines restart.If yes How I can realize it?Thanks a lot for the helpRegards

Using the H3LIS331DL in 200g scale. While recording readings overnight every once in a while I will record a high g spike (over 75g) where the normal reading is around 1g. Anyone else have this issue or have seen this happen?Doug

Posted on March 22, 2016 at 04:59I was hoping someone could help me better understand how close two (or more) VL6180X sensors can be positioned if they are on the same plane and pointing in the same direction.I would like to place two of these sensors side by side and use their ranging function. My main worry is that the beam from one of these sensors will get read by the second sensor, therefore inducing error. I've been digging through the documentation, but I haven't found any information with regards to interference that could be caused by placing two of these sensors in close proximity. Assuming both sensors are on the same plane, how close could I place them together? Can their beam cones overlap past a certain depth? (perhaps at a 255mm depth?)My second question pertains to the cover glass thickness. Posted on June 24, 2018 at 21:18I am running the vl6180x without an object being placed before and it stop working. No interrupt status, value and error code. When an object is placed in front of it in startup, it works without issue but when removed for a few minutes, the detection stops working. Any ideas why it would do this? I am running only range detection in continuous mode, autoVHV repeat.
