I have a problem interfacing with L3G4200 using I2C on STM32F469 Discovery. Hi,I'm trying to implement the streaming of two MEMS microphones via I2S.Following some examples provided by ST, I was able to implement the acquisition of the two microphones: I obtain a 32 samples buffer PCM every 1 ms (left and right channel).Now I'm trying to send these samples through I2S (16 Bits Data on 16 Bits Frame, 16 KHz) using DMA in circular mode. So, I can fill the buffer while the transmission goes on.I've created a 128-elements buffer. Every 1 ms I put in the buffer 32 elements. When the buffer contains 64 elements, I launch the transfer using "HAL_I2S_Transmit_DMA".The problem is that probably the DMA transfer goes slowly compared to the 1 ms filling routine, so what I obtain is that the sound isn't clear.How can I sync these two operations?

Hey,I am using the vl53l1x on a raspberry pi with python (pimoroni library). However, to my knowledge and experience, by default the waiting method for measurement data is BLOCKING. So in Python the get_distance() function takes about as much time as the set timing budget or intermeasurement period, which is simply too time consuming for me.What would I need to change in the api/core files to realize the non-blocking method or the physical interrupt driven method for the Raspberry Pi described in the docs from ST? I tried to change the "wait_method" in the api (vl53l1_api_core.c) for measurements to NON_BLOCKING and recompiled/reinstalled the module. But in python I still need about the same long duration for finishing the "get_distance()" line (from the Python module), I just want to get the distance measured by the sensor in a given frequency without having to wait for the data in a program blocking way.Any help would be appreciated

Posted on June 12, 2018 at 10:28Description:We use 4 -VL53L1X sensors in our product and we have a closed box (rectangular shape), in which we place a foggy stuff for a worst air condition to see object distance impact or not.Before the foggy stuff in, ideal distance of S1 S2 S3 S4 in cm areS1 ~ 1cm, (blue plot)S2 ~ 39cm,  (red plot)S3 ~ 18cm, (purple plot)S4 ~ 10cm, (green plot).From 4 plots, during foggy period in middle time, from red plot, distance is dropped from among 39cm to near 25cm (14cm), if it can be proportional to a linear impact, if desired object distance is near 200cm, and during foggy period, it may be impact by 14cm * 5 (200cm/40cm) = 70cm; it seems a lot distance drop. Is there any referred statistics of foggy test from ST sensor chip? Then I can base on them for more tests. TKS. 

Hi everyone, i'm working on a project which i use Atollic TrueStudio as IDE and NUCLEO-F303RE as evaluation board. I was inplementing floating point as "hardware" before i decided to use MotionAC library but after adding library to my project i could not build project because i got "project.elf isusing VFP registers but library does not" error. When i changed the implementation to "software" it worked.So is it a MUST to change fpu implementation to "soft" in order to get ST MEMS libraries like MotionAC work?Thanks.

Hi guys,I'm using the magnetometer of LSm303agr, but I have some doubts about how to interpret the data. Let me explain below:I know that LSm303agr returns magnetometer coordinates in two bytes (MSB, LSB) each one. Hi everyone, i've just started to learn using MEMS libraries in my project and have some questions. First of all; my device is a three wheeled omniwheel-omnidirectional robot which can move only on a flat table(i.e. XY-plane only). So no movements in Z-direction. I want to know its position with respect to its initial position using LSM6DSL chip. I will use both accelerometer and gyroscope data to help to estimate device's real time position and heading(yaw angle with respect to initial heading). To do so, i have to calibrate LSM6DLS at first but because of MEMS libraries are not open source, i can not understand how to implement algorithms. For example my device can not turn in roll or pitch axis, it only moves on xy-plane and turns only in yaw axis. So; 1) which calibration style do i have to use : dynamic or six-point calibration for accelerometer? 2) Do i have to calibrate accelerometer before gyroscope calibration because of MotionGC uses accelerometer data too?

I've bought a Sensortile.box and, aside from App usage with BLE, I'm having troubles in writing firmware. I have the following problems:The onboard ST-LINK programmer (as stated in product brochure) is not detected, I'm correctly working with other products (Nucleo, Discovery of all kinds) and they work correctly but, aside from COM port, no programmer is detected so there is no way to upload a custom firmware;Examples are bloated, where is a clean IOC (CubeMX file) ready for Sensortile.Box clean project start?I would like to write a simple code, as usual, to access sensors and do some computations onboard before getting output through USART for a custom application, so it is vital to know where sensors are connected.Thanks for your support.

Hi, I am using the LPS22HB and noticed it was reading significantly off after installation. The datasheet and applications notes really don't address this and a good way to correct for it. Could you look at enhancing your application notes or technical notes for this specific issue and address how the factory calibrates and what a user *should* do to restore accuracy?Thank youBill

I am using the STEVAL-MKI158V1 eval board which uses the AIS3624DQ. When I deinit the i2c communication to the device the sca and scl pins go low and the AIS stops outputting interupts. I can confirm the interupt pin triggers when the i2c connection is present. The board definitely has power when the i2c is deinitialised. Can anyone coment and confirm this is how the device is designed to act and if there are any work arounds?I will be using the device in an ultra low power application which means when i put my device in deep sleep it turns off the output at the two i2c pins.

I'm looking for the best way to send an interrupt on when the LIS2DW12 senses that motion has stopped.Ideally, the LIS2DW12 will be sleeping until it senses that it is moving...like in a car. The LIS2DW12 will only be moving for about 10 to 500m in and around a certain area. We are only interested in knowing when the LIS2DW12 senses that it has stopped from at least 5 seconds of being driven around.

HI,I would like to know whether I need to calibrate Accelerometer/Gyrometer & Magnetometer in LSM9DS1. I can able to read the raw X, Y, Z values for the sensors using the I2C module in our Design Board. Do these values need to be compensated for heading and for tilt? how to perform those Heading and Tilt Compensation using those raw values ?Thanks & Regards,Karthik Ram
