Posted on December 23, 2016 at 13:21After sending 'single shot reading mode' command (sending 0x01 to register 0x0018), I check 'RESULT_INTERRUPT_STATUS_GPIO' register at 0x04F and always read 0x00 that means it is busy.I replaced vl6180x with a new one but problem still continues.I do not have any problem in reading/writing from/to vl6180x registers. Initial values are standard values given in application notes.Anybody comments on this problem ?thanks in advance

Hi,I try to test the MotionAW algorithm, but the MCU gets stuck at MotionAW_Initialize()I use STM32L476QE, with IAR version 8.22 (DSP is enabled in the project settings as well as FPU).I added MotionAW200_CM4F_IAR8_ot.a and motion_aw.h to the project.I use LSM6DS3 but never got to the point where I get data from it, stuck on initialization.Any ideas?

Hi All,I'm facing some strange issue with LIS2DW12 sensor. I tried to read device ID from the sensor, most of the time its sends the device ID but some time it sends 0xFF. I'm not able to figure it out why sensor sending 0xFF. I checked the clock,CS, and reg value, everything is fine. To make it work, i need to reset the controller. Hi,We are using sensor LI2DW sensor in our project. Sensor is connected to MC using SPI interface. We have configured the device as below.fifo en 0x3fodr sample rate : 50 hz.we are reading data every 500 msec, so we are expecting 25 - 26 samples of x,y,z samples. we are getting data for the first read, after that fifo size showing always 0.We need atleast 25 samples for every 500 msec. how to enable this requirement in the code and register settings?is there any suggestion to read fifo values?Please let me know how fifo behaves with different settings and Please send register settings for different fifo modes.Thanks and reagards,Basavanagouda

HelloI have problem with reading data from accelerometer (LSM6DS0 using iks01a1) for another scale than 2g. For example when I change FS[1:0]_XL in register CTRL1_XL (10h) for 16 g full scale, I have result 8g for z-axis after multiple result by linear acceleration sensitivity, but it should be 1g. I'd be grateful for your help, because I'm beginner and I've no clue, what I do wrong.

I'm trying to read data from gyroscope. I set ctrl2_g and I'm trying to read 6 bytes from register address 22h. Hello and thank you in advance,i am trying to connect the LSM6DS3 accel+gyr with the 3110 magnetometer. I want to connect the mag on the LSM6DS3 and i want it to see it as an exterrnal sensor so i can sent the data of the magnetometer to LSM6DS3's internal FIFO. The problem is that in the LSM6DS3's datasheet there are this registers:- SLV0_ADD -> (I2C slave address of the first external sensor (Sensor1) register (r/w)) // Magnetometer's slave address (everything ok)- SLV0_SUBADD -> (Address of register on the first external sensor (Sensor1) register (r/w)) // This is an 8-bit register, what should i put here? Which register? The mag's register for only the x axis is 16-bit long -> OUT_X_MSB(8-bit) & OUT_X_LSB(8-bit)Thanks

Hi All,I am working on a project that is using ISM330DLC sensor for measuring the acceleration along the X,Y and Z-axis. When I set range 2G,4G and 8G I'm seeing difference in the sensor raw value and when I set it to 16G, I'm getting same data as 8G.eg: Z-axis data:2G : 1030 4G : 5178G : 25816 : 256  Regards, Dom

Hi ST,I'm wondering about the sample rate of the LIS2DH* family and if the configured sample rate affects how the samples are captured. Specifically, when sample rate is changed, does that change how the samples are performed internally, or does is it the same process just happening less frequently? For example, if I switch from 10hz sampling to 1hz, does the chip integrate over a longer period while collecting each sample?thanks,paul

I want to know how to do hardware or software reset on LIS2DE12TR when it does not work correctly.

HI,I am looking at using the LSM9DS1 to sense both acceleration and the gyroscope. It would also be nice if I could use the fifo, so I can periodically sleep my main processor. The issue is that I'm not sure how this fifo works. Reading the data sheet it seems that there is one fifo that is wide enough for the temperature, acclerometer, and gyroscope. Is this how it works? Or does each measurement have it's own fifo? Also when does that fifo de-queue the current entry so you can see the next entry? It seems that this should happen automatically after the last data address is read.

Hi I have STM32L073 based custom board with LoRa Module,VL53L1X is interfaced using I2C to the MCU. The function of the board is it will report the sensor reading after every 10s to LoRa gateway. The I2C read works fine initially but after some time I2C read fails continuously. Hi there, I have got quite an inaccurate range measurement result with vl6180x in my setup with stm8s003f3. I only use low-level I2C tx/rx communication and send to the slave address 0x52 start single ranging command 0x00;0x18;0x01 wait for 100mS and next read the result from 0x0;0x62. I do that in a cycle(start;100mS delay;read result). GPIO0 managed correctly(powerOn GPIO0=0;delay 100mS;GPIO0=1;delay 100mS; start/read cycling). Finally, the result shows me 255mm at 300mm of white paper target but 14mm result I got instead 160mm! Furthermore, vl6180x shows only 14mm even if target going from 160mm up to 0mm. I think something wrong with my vl6180x sample, isn't it? According vl6180x.pdf that sensor is factory precalibrated, and of course I've expected to see the tolerance less than +/-10%. PS: decoupling caps placed within 2mm of vl6180x pads, 10uf and 1uf 0402. vl6180x powered from 1117 2.8(actulal voltage 2.86VDC with about 20mV ripple). I2C high-level voltage =3.3V.

Hello ST Community,Long time lurker, first time poster.I'm having an issue with the STTS75 temperature sensor and I can't seem to figure this one out. Right now I'm just trying to pull the current sensed temperature from the chip; nothing fancy. I've followed the data sheet linked below for the recommended setup and when I realized it wasn't working with my STM32F207VG MCU I decided to move it over to an Arduino Uno for a little simplicity and isolation. Both devices do not seem to be receiving the ACK from the temperature sensor.After a lot of troubleshooting I decided to load up an I2C address scanner on the Uno. Basically, it runs through addresses 0x1 - 0x73 looking for an ACK. I know the scanner works because when I plug it up to my LSM9DS1 I get ACKs on two addresses; same code, same Uno. For some reason it just does not seem to work with this temp. sensor.I have two of these sensors and I've tried both with no joy. I've

What are the difference among operating modes in magnetometer of LIS3mdl in terms of the number of samples used to generate each output sample?For example, I found that in ISM303DAC the number of samples used to generateoutput sample is four times less in Low-Power mode than the number used inHigh-Resolution mode. As you know the operation modes in ISM303DAC and IIS2MDC are just two modes including low power and high resolution, but in LIS3MDL there are 4 different modes of LP, MP, HP and UHP. So,,1- please let me know these difference in terms of number of samples per data output. 2- In addition I want to know if there is any difference in resolution of operating modes? For example if I select the Low power mode in LIS3mdl with +-2Gauss range, how would be the resolution in other modes?

The static current of LIS3MDL is 0.2mA while the pin is connect to ground serial with 10K resistor, if this pin is floating, the current 0.07mA. The sensor is communication with Noridic nrf52 MCU via I2C. Please advise the appropriate connected for the pin SDO/SA1. 

On page 47 (DocID025715 Rev 3) we're trying to figure out how the OUT_SEL bites are supposed to be set if we wan't the LPF2 enabled. We're reading it continuously, no interrupts. HPF is not used, yet. A clarification would be great of how the chart is meant to be read. This is how we interpret it now:   0b00, LPF2 Off, HPF off.   0b01, HPF on and LPF2 off? (What happens when HPF is off?)   0b10, HPF off LPF2 on? This is what we seem to get some results with.   0b11, HPF on and LPF2 on?

I consider to use VL6180X sensor in a closed-loop system to measure a distance from the object. 1) I would like to sample distance measurement at 100-500 Hz. But if I read the manual correctly, even in continuous mode I can get measurements at best at ~100 Hz (assuming RangeSetMaxConvergenceTime is 4ms). Is it correct? 2) Do I understand correctly that the minimal distance measurement increment is 1mm? Thanks, Andrei

Dear Sir / Madam,For our application there is a temperature range of -20 to +50 degrees celcius. However, over the complete range of temperature I would like the system to be within 0.1 degrees accurate. Due to the temperature drift in the sensor, this is not possible at the moment. Would it be possible to receive a temperature compensation look-up-table for each sensor that we buy, or is there production line hardware available that could quickly allow us to calibrate each product we sell?Your help is kindly appreciated. I am using the NUCLEO-F411RE with STM32F411RE, SW4STM IDE,LSM9DS1 sensor with gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer. For this, I implemented the X-CUBE-MEMS1 library with MotionAC, MotionGC and MotionMC for sensor calibration. I performed the gyroscope calibration successfully, but I could not calibrate the accelerometer and magnetometer. The MotionMC library never gives me results. The MotionAC gives me results sometimes, but only in 'Dynamic Calibration' mode and they are not very accurate. I am doing circular motions trying to cover to the maximum all the points with all the axes.
