I am trying to use the FIFO to store accelerometer and gyroscope data on the LSM6DSL. While the acceleration data appears correctly in the FIFO, the gyroscope x and y axis data is only being stored as zeros. The gyroscope z axis data is being stored correctly in the FIFO, however. Additionally, when I read the gyroscope x and y axis registers directly, they appear correct. The FIFO_CRTL3 register is set to include both the acceleration and angular rate data in the FIFO without decimation. Any ideas what is happening? I have looked through the datasheet and application note extensively. Thank you!

Hi, is there any way to reset all registers to their default values rather than doing it manually?There is a option call "reboot memory content". However, it seems to be no effect to other registers. So I am not sure what is this thing doing, can any one also tell me what does "reboot memory content" mean?

Hi, currently, lis3dh is running well with IA1 function, but if i want to change some config, such as CTRL_REG1(20h) for change target axis INT1_CFG(30h) for target axis and direction change INT1_THS(32h) for threashold change what is the correct procedure for config's change ? regardsGary

In the datasheet, it says that LA_TyOff can be eliminated by enabling built-in high pass filter, but for accelerometer, the high pass filter can't be disabled (I assume that the normal mode means high pass filter is enabled, in CTRL_REG7_XM). I had also enabled AFDS, which I think is to use high pass filter mode data, but there are still about 40mg LA_TyOff error in it. So what does it mean that it can be eliminated?

Currently I am trying to use the Time of flight sensor, VL53L0X breakout board, by connecting it at the I2C pins on the nucleo 64.Also, I am using system workbench to run the generated code.I am unable to understand as to how to include the drivers/Api for the sensor into the project (created using Cube Mx and the system workbench) so that I can use it to access the sensor. Is there a simple process that anyone can explain? Even hints in the right direction would be really helpful. Also it would be great if anyone could point me to links showing ckt connections between a STM32 nucleo and TOF sensor.Thank you for the help and have a nice day!!

Namely, I want to know the linear acceleration sensitivity of the LSM9DS1 expressed in (m/s^2)/LSB, not in the g/LSB. It is well known that g at the Earth Poles is 9,832 m/s^2, but at the Equator is 9,780 m/s^2.Yes, such few difference is important for me. Clarify this to me if possible. Thank you

Hi, from Data sheet, i saw section 3.5, it says no need to further calibration but when i check output data from register 28-2D, the value is variety time to time , it has variety range for +- 20 ~ +-40, is it correct? or we should do calibration at factory side?regardsGary

Hello allI am new at this forum and have almost zero knowledge in electronics but look at acceleration data on a daily basis (in the geophysics field).My experience is that MEMS accelero are quite noisy, especially at "low" frequencies (<~1 Hz).Just wondering if multiple MEMS can be connected together in order for the individual signals to be summed giving a sqrt(N) pure random noise attenuation.I am thinking here about a hardware solution (e.g. N analog output sensors connected in serie, but is that that simple?), not a stack after individual sensor data digitalisation (something I could not afford for a number of reasons)Your comments and advices will be much appreciated!RegardsPascal

I am using an H3LIS331DL accelerometer on a custom PCB. I wish to use it to attempt to capture some drop events. Using an analog accelerometer, I have seen that the drop event occurs within approximately 1-1.5 msec. Will this accelerometer be able to capture this? I am assuming the ODR rate of 1kHz is the fastest the chip is able to sample?

I'm working on a project that uses the LIS2DH12 accelerometer by ST. I have a couple of questions about it, and as it is quite a common part, I wonder if anyone here knows the answers:I would like to know if it's possible to activate two interrupts, watermark and overflow, in the same pin. I tried to set them up, enabling latching interrupts in INT1 in CTRL_REG5 and setting both watermark and overflow in CTRL_REG3. When I get a watermark register, I read INT1_SRC, but that returns 0 (I would expect it to return 0x80, interrupt active) and it doesn't clear the interrupts. I don't know if the overflow interrupt ever kicks in, as I can't clear the watermark without reading the FIFO (I would expect that by enabling latching interrupts, I could clear the interrupt by reading INT1_SRC, and then leave the samples unread to trigger the overflow interrupt).In case somebody is asking why would I do this, I'm a bit paranoid, and don't want to miss an interrupt and end up losing d

Our application would like to track the attitude of an object - yaw, pitch, and roll - at 500Hz update rate. The object is not moving very fast, but accuracy is important; for example, it would move through a 30 degree arc in about 1 second, and we would like an accuracy of ~0.1 deg or better. For those of you with experience with these devices - does this sound possible with a 3DoF magnetometer such as the LIS2MDL?BTW - This is obviously a problem much more suited to an IMU, but for various IP reasons we are not allowed to go that route.

Hi,X-NUCLEO-53L1A1 expansion board uses an IC (ST2329AQTR) to shift the 3.3V I2C bus lines of the MCU to a 2.8V I2C bus for the proximity sensor VL53l1x.Why are there these strange connections between the 3.3V and 2.8V bus as shown on the schematic of the X-NUCLEO-53L1A1 (see attached file) ? Thanks,Jeremie

As the LSM6DS33 has an internal temp. sensor I'm wondering if the gyro/accel sensitivity is automatically corrected by the sensitivity of +16 LSB/°C?We use the FIFO continous mode and read-out the data by ...Get_Axis(), e.g.:BSP_MOTION_SENSOR_FIFO_Get_Axis(LSM6DSL_0, MOTION_GYRO, &gyr_x);If not considered, how can I read out the Temperature by FIFO, the sensitvity and then calculate?Further, other ways to get more accurate gyro data? Hello ST, Am working on Steval-MK1159V1 Sensor which is interfaced through SPI to SAME51 Controller( Atmel ). I have been gone through Analysis of this Sensor. I Read LSM9DS1 Document. In Application, i read values of register which is 16 bit and multiplied with 0.061 as -2g to +2g Config ( Accelerometer). As mg, i divided with 1000 at end, but mg/LSB as per tabular column in LSM9DS1 reference manual. 1. Shall i divide Least Significant bit with 1000 excluding High Signigicant bit.  2. I read 3.58320507E+1 = 0.35832 mg which is near to Zero Is this Correct.3. In application i used configuration -2g to +2g Full Scale, 2 * 980.636 mg. how can i consider this values in application for example if i got 1g value what should i implement in code.4. Interrupts have activated for 1A/G, with small change am getting interrupt for accelerometer.

I am designing a product for a client and have selected the LIS2DE12 for it's low power consumption. I have measured the power consumption (standalone), with nothing connected to it to be 160uA with VDD and VDDIO both connected to 3.0V. When I remove VDDIO, the power goes to <1uA. What are the conditions that for IddPdn?

I am using VL53L0X for distance sensing with a PMMA (acrylic) glass cover of 0.6 mm on it at an distance of 0.4 mm. When i keep the sensor on the ground and try to get the distance measurement when there is nothing but the roof in front of the sensor, the sensor gives random sub 100 readings.I have put the range ignore threshold to 0.0030, i have calibrated the sensor for offset and Xtalk. Still the random behavior is seen. Any help will be appreciated.Thank you for your valuable time.

I'm trying to read the data from the iis328dq using the data ready function.To do so, I wrote the CTRL_REG1 with 27h and CTRL_REG3 with 82h to have the accelerometer working in normal mode with 50 Hz of ODR. I use SPI at 25 Mbit/s to comunicate with the device.I encountered 2 problems:1)Initially no interrupts were generated from the accelerometer. Inserting a dummy read of the out registers after the power on of the accelerometer, I saw that the first interrupt was generated. Basically now reading every set of data multiple times the interrupts are generated until the accelerometer is powered down. Any idea why I see this behaviour?2)Watching the interrupt line with an oscilloscope, I see that these interrupts are not generated at the ODR I set, but they are randomly generated.

Can anybody suggest why I am getting a fixed 10 C colder offset from the temperature reading for this accelerometer?

I'm working on a new design requiring four pressure sensors. The LPS22HH only allows two I2C address's through pin 5. Rather then increase complexity by putting all four on SPI I wanted to see if I could use the I3C bus capability. The datasheet refers to the dynamic addressing and SETNEWDA(0x88) command from the I3C spec but never directly refers to the ability to dynamically address the device.I'd like to know if this capability does indeed exist? or if I3C is only implemented in that the sensor will work on the bus but only with its static I2C address? or if I3C dynamic addressing is implemented but there is no distinct instance ID to positively ID each sensor connected to the I3C bus?If the capability does not exist is there any plan for future revisions of this product to allow for programming I2C addresses or full implementation of I3C dynamic addressing?For background,When I3C attempts dynamic address assignment it check

I'm trying to evaluate STEVAL-MKI015V1 with STEVAL-MKI109V3 and Unico 7.0.0.0. The device appears in the selection menu, but I got the error "Device is not supported by the motherboard". I successfully completed the firmware upgrade through DFU (current version is V2.30.3) and I'm able to evaluate other devices (i.e. STEVAL-MKI186V1 works fine). Is the device supported? Is there any specific hardware configuration I have to setup on the motherboard jumpers for analog accelerometer?

LIS3DE connects to BLE IC using I2C Bus and INT pinsPlease state the mode according to time before and after the trigger.Second, if I want to monitor 30 seconds after trigger to double check is it need to transmit BT beacons. May I use LIS3DE FIFO to storage data and just wake up BLE IC at the end to reduce power consumption. Or is there have other solution.
