There is as well a sample matlab code which I use to verify my implementation. My software inside the microcontroller calculated all the steps described in the design tip 59. Posted on July 07, 2018 at 14:09I am attempting to use a SensorTile for continuous audio recording and environmental monitoring, recording data to the SD card hosted in the cradle.  I am finding that temperature readings are unreliable/unusable, which I hypothesize is due to local heat being generated by the SensorTile.  I believe the temperature sensor on the cradle is the HTS221.During recording, temperature readings start at ambient temperature (as recorded by an external reference) and begin to rise, typically to 31-33 C.Does this hypothesis seem reasonable?  Has anyone else encountered this issue?  Is the heat likely generated by the STM32L476 MCU?  Is there a recommended heat sink to mitigate this issue?  Other known/recommended solution?Thanks in advance.

Hello!I am working with the LSM9DS1 and am having trouble with my magnetometer.I tried following Application Notes in which pitch, yaw and roll are calculated but had no success. I tried tracking down the error and I found the following problem: My magnetometer reads strange values?Currently I am calculating the norm of the measured magnetic field. I did this in two different towns, in my company and in a forrest, so there are no external magnetic fields disturbing my measurement and the error stays the same. The norm of the measured magnetic field changes significantly whenever I move or rotate the sensor. I expect the vector to have the same value, no mater to what degree my sensor is rotated, the same point in space should lead to the same vector norm.As I said, the magnetometer is callibrated, there are no external magnetic fields, I followed the design rules for the layout in the datasheet and still I am picking up strange readings. Hello,I have a board on my desk where the RES pin (#5) of LIS2HH12 is not connected.The data sheet says, Connect to GND. OK ... not good ...As I do not get any response of the accelerometer via I2C, I would like to know if this pin is the reason. I can't easily connect it due to the package ...Does RES stand for RESET or does anyone from ST can confirm that connecting RES not to ground results in having no I2C access?Thanks.

I am interfacing a LIS3DSH using SPI. My MCU is a Texas Instruments MSP432.When writing and checking configuration registers, even-addressed ones do not return the expected value.After sending a byte, MSP432 MOSI retains the value of its MSB. This is noticeable while spinning on SPI RX interrupt flag after sending address byte: MOSI is low if the register is being accessed in write mode, high otherwise, whichever the address was. I presume the SPI transmission shift register turns transparent towards TX buffer while waiting for a new byte to send. This causes MOSI to toggle low-to-high after sending an even address in read mode, and keep such value until next transmission starts.I found two workarounds:Polling on SPI TX interrupt flag: transmission pipeline is packed full as subsequent bytes are sent one immediately after another. This avoids the pause between transmissions, so MCU never shows a meaningless logic value to the sla

Hi All,I am working on the LIS3MDL register on my board. But When I try to measure the Magnetic field Produced by motors, I am getting very high deviation.My settings for the LIS3MDL are as below.0x22 -- 0x00 (also tried with 0x22 -- 0x03)0x21 -- 0x000x23 -- 0x0C0x24 -- 0x000x30 -- 0x000x32 -- 0x000x33 -- 0x00And I am setting 300 ODR (HP Mode).(delay of 100 ms after reading 1 sample from each axis).(Below para is for reference , you can also neglect).So The deviation Which I am talking here is, when I collect samples/time, and convert frequency I get somewhere around 30-35hz but when I measured with other sensor(bosch sensortech) I am getting exact match of magnetic readings. Since there's no information on the registers in the datasheet, and half of the API is in the documentation. I'd like to know if there's a reset/factory default settings for the chip ?I was building the platform file and sent a lot of crap to the device at multiple random address. I'd like to start on a solide basis, since I can't get the valid conversion flag.Thanks

Trying to run Echo Cancellation Demo using X-NUCLEO-CCA01M1 , X-NUCLEO-CCA02M1 and NUCLEO-F446RE with FP-AUD-SMARTMIC1 Firmware, GUI. Using coupons for microphone. With GUI i am able to run all the demo but Echo Cancellation. With Echo Cancellation it seems microphone is enabled and collecting data however I do not hear anything on the speaker. Not sure what is wrong. Using 8 ohm 2 W speakers. Powered also. 

Hello everyone,I have an issue with the IIS2DH accelerometer when I try to pool data from it.My setup is: STM32L442 connected to the IIS2DH using SPI interface and sending data through USART to Tera Term (using a FTDI cable).First I have a small initialization process which sets up the chip following my needs:400Hz, X Y and Z axis enabled, +-2G scale, high resolution, SPI 4 wires, BDU.Then I read all the 6 control registers and the "who I am" register to check if everything is ok and I display the results on Tera Term. All works nicely, as expected.However, when I pool data from output registers (OUT_X_L, OUT_X_H, ...) it works only for X and Y axis...Once data from the several registers are stored, there is a small sequence which constructs the 16-bit signed integers from the high and low regisiters of each axis, then it shifts the 16 bits to the right to keep only the first 12 bits (HR mode)

Hi, I am following manuals UM2084 and UM2073 and with out the iks01a2 board everything thing works fine with the ***** payload reaching the application over the web every-time, but when i reset up and add the iks01a2 board to the dev kit i get PHY txTimeOut in the terminal window for every tried tx no rx happens when i get this error, also the very frist payload reaches the application but no others do when this error happens. In the i-cube-lrwan software i am using the end node demo and in the hw_conf.h file i do un-comment the sensor_enable define which following the manual should get it to work and i am using keil as the toolchain for compiling and flashing the dev kit. Please help or if anyone knows a better more definitive guide to follow please share as searches seems to bring up no answers. thx in advance.

Hi,By default the temp, humidity and pressure are enabled in the end node example and i would like to enable the accelerometer in order to include the data in the payload being sent from the end node. How would i go about including the accelerometer code in this example. Adding the data to the payload and sending in out i can handle myself just dont know where to start to add accelerometer code and compile it. Using keil toolchain. thx in advance.

Hello,I am using the LSM6DSL in FIFO Continuous Mode. Fifo ODR is equal to the Accelerometer and Gyroscope ODRs (no decimation configured). Data are retrieved from fifo after the FIFO_FULL interrupt is triggered.  I have a problem that appears after few minutes of functioning. The sensor is not moving so the data sets from fifo remains the same.The problem is that one fifo data set is sometimes corrupted after few minutes from running the application (the sensor is motionless) => all 3 axes for gyroscope and accelerometer have corrupted values.                                                                   &n

Dear communityI'm using the LIS2DW12 accelerometer with 800Hz ODR in continuous mode. I've set the fifo watermark threshold to 25 samples and enabled the watermark interrupt on INT1-pin. I read the data from the fifo inside an interrupt-routine on a STM32 microcontroller. The application works and the data can be read correctly. So far so good...Sometimes there is a second (unexpected) interrupt event generated by the sensor, right after the "normal" interrupt was set low again. I try to use the LIS3DH as a fall sensor in an security device for elderly people. I want to use a more elaborate detection method than just using the free fall interrupt and therefore I try to define a fall as first a free fall interrupt and then an activity or "wake-up" interrupt. For the freefall everything works as expected. The datasheet for LIS2DE12TR is utterly confusing. It is missing any kind of flowchart for how the device operates in 4D/6D mode, or how to even set up registers correctly to enable these modes without conflict. Moreover, the registers are described with undefined terms in many places, leaving the user to wonder what the meaning behind it was. For example: (a) In CTRL_REG3, what exactly is "IA1", "IA2", "ZXYDA" actually referring to? (b) In INT1_SRC, how do you actually define the high-Z value/event, how do you actually define the X-low value/event? (c) INT2_CFG allows you to enable 6D mode. Later down the datasheet, it is described AOI-6D is orientation recognition from unknown zone to a known zone. But how to define what the "known zone" is is also completely missing. So, how is the "known zone" defined, and where is it defined? (d) How do you use and define the "OR combination of interrupt events" and the "AND combination of interrupt events"? How does this affect the 6D position
