Posted on November 05, 2012 at 18:57I cannot find a forum for MEMS sensors, so I'm posting here. Is anyone using the a3g4250d gyro?  I'm having a problem where I get only one set of measurements after power up.  After that, the measurements do not change (x, y, z, temperature).  I've tried FIFO bypass mode, stream mode, power down/sleep modes, various settings of FIFO_CTRL, etc, and cannot get past this problem.  WHOAMI reads back correctly, and other register values look reasonable.  Does anyone have working example source code?  Are there any errata out there that I'm missing?  Thanks,Brian #a3g4250d-mems-gyro

Posted on June 28, 2018 at 09:00HiI am facing issue while taking multiple readings for averaging in the VL53L1X sensor.Our sensor is interfaced with B-L072Z-LRWAN1.We are not getting consitent reading as shown below:2486249024892490248724882490Above 200 CM some readings are very different so averaging doesnt seem to help. I have a programmer who is knowledgeable of Android Studio, but not the SensorTile. Is it this easy for him to just cut and paste?And if not, is their any SensorTile experts that could assist me?I downloaded the STBlueMS_Android-master from Github. Thanks,Jess

Posted on June 21, 2018 at 00:36Hi all, I'm working with the LIS3DSH accelerometer which is the accel2 click board on the raspberry pi. I was able to get the angles of x, y, and z-axis based on the binary reading and I was also able to determine the roll and pitch of the accelerometer based on the equation I found in the datasheet. The question I have is, how am I let it suppose to know that it has done a full 360-degree turn? As of now, it knows that when I turn the accelerometer tune 90 degrees, it shows me the angles of x and z plane with respect to the z-axis. As soon as the threshold gets more than 90 degrees, it resets to zero and does the math again. I am not able to implement it based on the figure I found in the datasheet which I have attached below, along with a snippet of my code which calculates the angles based on the readings outputted by the accelerometer. Posted on February 21, 2018 at 14:47hi,  how does the Vl53L0X ranging sensor adress the GPIO for the interrupt, i can only find a long list of register adresses in the vl53l0x_interrupt_threshold_settings.h.After initialization and calibration of the Sensor, i tried it with the code below. However, no interrupt is given out in StartMeasurement(). Posted on June 16, 2018 at 05:12We are seeing a large current draw when the LSM6DSL is in power-down mode, or low-power mode. The current measured is roughly 120 uA. IC is wired for I2C. We have an identical setup with a LIS3DH that does not have this issue.Is there a register we need to change? After that, I've installed Unicleo-GUI and in tab FW Managment I don't see any one  firmware for download on the board. In what correct folder, as it is said in the video, I need to unzip the packages en.x-cube-mems1.zip and en.x-cube-mems-xt1_firmware.zip for the firmware to appear in the tab FW Managment ?null

Posted on June 21, 2018 at 14:18Hello,I'm trying to get run the MotionFX library using STM32L4 and SensiBLE board (which is equivalent to Nucleo-L476RG + X-Nucleo-IDB05A1 + X-Nucleo-IKS01A1 + X-Nucleo-CCA02M1).The module for the accelerometer and gyroscope is the LSM6DS3 and LIS3MDL for the magnetometer.I was trying to use 6X algorithm instead of 9X because the magnetometer values are disturbed.The library run but the output values are very weird. The results are Euler angles.When I move the board fast enough, the results are correct. Posted on June 19, 2018 at 14:12HiWe have interfaced VL53L1 to STM32L0 EVM board(B-L072Z-LRWAN1).We tested the sensor with a white surface and water in opaque object.The accuracy with white surface are good if the object is below 200cm.If above 200cm we are getting approximately 4cm error.For water we are getting proper readings for some range. Posted on June 11, 2018 at 14:55Hello,we've been using the LIS3DH on a development board and have switched to the LIS3DE for the prototype. We're using the HW fifo feature to batch-read values from the sensor. The LIS3DE is only 8-bit and thus I was expecting the HW fifo to only provide 8-bit values, but it seems like it is still sending 2 bytes per axis, is this correct?The reason I'm asking is simply due to the fact that the _L and _H distinction does not exist on the LIS3DE, I'm always reading from register 0x29 (instead of 0x28) and read using auto-increment. In the received data every second value is zero and thus the values are actually signed 16 bit values?What is the correct way to interpret the values? Attached: Buffer as read from LIS using HW fifo feature#fifo-buffer #lis3dh #lis3de

Posted on June 18, 2018 at 11:17In section 10.1 of the datasheet for the LPS22HB the square on top of the package is labelled as 'Sensing area (exposed silicon)', which makes it sound quite fragile.  However I noticed in a recent press release: http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/about/media-center/press-item.html/t4028.html the LPS22HB is listed as 'Dust-free and water-resistant by design'.  Is this square of silicon the sensing element or a protective cap (how fragile is it?), and is that the same of the LPS25HB?Many thanks.
