Posted on May 23, 2018 at 08:18Hello, I'm going to develop a kind of solutions for local positioning, and wondering the benefits of using integrated sensors (accelerometer, gyro, and magnetometer) like LSM9DS1 over using individual sensors and gathering.As I can handle each sensor like LSM6DSL and LIS2MDL, I think I can make data like from LSM9DS1.Are the data from LSM9DS1 sensor better in terms of accuracy, speed, or any other things?Thank you for your answer in advance!#mems #lsm9ds1

Posted on May 17, 2018 at 12:06Hello,     I  checked the lis3dh manual, there is such a sentence “ The status of the 321DA bit can be driven to the INT1 pad by setting the I1_DRY2 bit of CTRL_REG3 to 1.â€� ,I have do it(ADC_PD bit of TEMP_CFG_REG (1Fh) to 1, ODR bit of CTRL_REG1(20h)  to 1HZ ), but can’t get interruptes signals.INT1 pin is always high. other work well.Thanks for your help.

Posted on May 18, 2018 at 04:50DA14585 BLE is connected to accelerometer LIS2DH12 sharing the SPI lines with external flash memory AT25XE011. There are two issues I am facing.1) When all devices are connected to the 3.2V power supply rail, LIS2DH12 pulls down the power supply to ~1.6V. When the power supply to LIS2DH12 is disconnected, the rest of the board get the power supply of 3.2V. Why LIS2DH12 causing this effect?2) Even when the supply voltage of LIS2DH12 is removed, LIS2DH12 is pulling down the shared SPI lines SD0/SA0 and SPC. I read in another question at this site about changing the register value CTRL_REG0 (1Eh) to disable the internal pull-up at SA0/SD0. Posted on May 22, 2018 at 11:40On Section 3.2.1 of the datasheet(DocID17530 Rev 2), there is a column in Table 10 called 'BW[Hz]', this is the 'system bandwidth'. The datasheet does not discuss more details on what the 'system bandwidth' means but I'm assuming this indicates the real output data rate. Is this correct?So going back to Table 10, if I am configuring LIS3DH into High-resolution mode and an ODR of 400Hz the BW is ODR/9. If my above assumption is correct, this would mean that the real output rate is actually 44Hz(i.e.,400/9)?Thanks.

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 12:43Hi,I'm restoring some old SUN computers and they have ST combined SRAM, battery and clock chips in them (M48T59Y-70PC1). I've found the datasheets for the chips, but the replacements chips that I have purchased are M48T59Y-70PC1U and M48T59Y-70PC1D. Though I can't find any explanation anywhere for what the D or U stands for. Does anyone know ?Also, apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section.

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 00:36Ok, I know that ST's standard answer is that the VCSEL in the VL6180 is eye safe, and I have not problem believing it.  But when getting my product certified eye safe, the testing house does not just take our word for it.  It there greater documentation about the laser power, or is there information that ST will provide that will satisfy the testing group?

But i eventually got a curve slope that is totally different from what i expect. Kindly advise on this and suggestion to improve, or am i using it in a wrong way?#vl6180x

Posted on May 21, 2018 at 11:02I am using LSM330 but not getting accelerometer and gyroscope interrupt when it exceeds threshold value. Gyrsocsope and accelerometer value changes continously even if the device is in stationary state. DEN_G is not used.#lsm330-interrupt

Posted on March 22, 2018 at 03:37Description:We encounter one problem when we port VL53L1X ranging sensors (left/center/right) to our platform STM32F429 controller, the left/right sensors can not be activated via I2C slave address 0x54 and 0x58. (center is 0x52).Currently, I refer to module board X-NUCLEO-53L1A1 as an example by using IO interrupt to report our MCUwhen starting to measure sensor values and however, we find when we enable left/right, we will get returned error -13 naming, VL53L1_ERROR_CONTROL_INTERFACE from fucntion (VL53L1_WaitDeviceBooted().for center sensor, it can be activated by default SA = 0x52; but not working at left and right sensors.Any help for it???

Posted on May 17, 2018 at 16:54Hello guys,has anyone successfully used the multi ROI scan of the VL53L1X  camera yet? I'm still trying to get it to work but the reportings are not clear to me (can't just trigger one corner to report smaller distance).For 2x2 defined ROIs with the size of 8x8 SPADs for each ROI it works fine, but as soon as I try to use more than that like 8 or 16 there seem to be some kind of wrong reportings.Would appreciate some input on why that might happen#vl53l1x

Posted on May 11, 2018 at 22:21The LSM9DS1 datasheet lists typical and max supply current for two cases: (1) gyroscopes off and accelerometers and magnetometers active, and (2) gyroscopes active and accelerometers and magnetometers off.  I need the current for the case in which the accelerometers are active and the gyroscopes and magnetometers are off.

Posted on May 12, 2018 at 07:33Hello,Unfortunately, I am having problems with the demo included in the X-CUBE-MEMSMIC1 package for the NUCLEO-L476RG. After loading the precompiled file to the board and attempting to plug it in to a computer via the X-NUCLEO-CCA02M1's connector, the device does not register with my computer (Linux or Windows). Can any troubleshooting advice be given?I have not modified the jumpers on the board. Is my reading of the manual correct, and that I need to set the jumpers to DFSDM operation to use the pregenerated files (which as far as I can tell select DFSDM operation on the L476RG board)? If I use 16x16 ROI settings then distance is correct but if I change ROI to smaller then 16x16 then results is unpredictable for different ROI's and distance varies between 5-40%.For ROI changing I'm using library source code function: set_custom_roiMaybe need to do something more if I changing ROI that the distance measurement will be correct?Here I below I provide the results when I changed the ROI to 4x4 and moved this square in different places in the 16x16 matrix:  81      92      77      64      76   &

Posted on March 30, 2018 at 14:16Hi. I'm noticing that when using the BVLINK or MEMS software with the device paired with an iPhone the BlueCoin is using about 40-45mA. This seems a high. I'm expecting 10-20mA maximum based on other similar products I've used in the past for similar use cases. Additionally, if the power battery levels reported in the iPhone app are accurate (which I doubt since at full charge it reports alternately 97% and 80% charged), then the device appears to shutdown when the LiPo is at 20-30% capacity. This power usage is the same even if the device isn't 'doing anything' - i.e. is merely paired with the phone. Consequently I have the following questions: 1) Does this sound reasonable/correct? 2) Is it possible to shut down all other features to conserve power? 3) Is there an ultra-low power standby mode I can activate? How do I then wake the device?

Posted on May 11, 2018 at 12:17Hello,In my application , i switch between power down and other data rate sometimes each second and i use soft reset before to reset the lis3dsh in Reg3 ,sometimes it takes many days to have the lis3dsh not responding and sometimes before it takes less than that. i tried to read registers it always returns 0xff i checked with my oscislloscope MISO is always high.I tried to do as mentioned here https://community.st.com/0D50X00009XkWy7SAF always no good result.when i tried to unpower the LIS3DSH and power it again it works well and the device respond again and the read write works fine.My problem is that in my application the hardware forces me to use only the software reset the VDD is not controlled.Could i have a explication for that issue?
