Posted on February 14, 2018 at 20:16 Hello to all, I'm trying to get run the MotionFX library using STM32F4 Discovery board and STEVAL-MKI159V1 board (which consists of 9 axes LSM9DS1 inertial module). I represent this module as a combination of LSM6DS0 accelerometer+gyroscope and LIS3MDL magnetometer which seems to be correct according to the data sheets of these modules. I got the library run but the output values are very weird. Firstly, I can't find the units of them anywhere. Are they the same as input units? Secondly, the gravity data just roll from -1 to 1 for all axes. The acceleration and rotation seem to be random numbers. The heading has some consistency but sill jumps as well. Also I never can get the magnetometer calibration done. I've checked the input data and it seems to be correct for all sensors. Can any

We want to use it in interrupt mode.Unfortunately, we failed to get any signal on INT1 pin, observing by an oscilloscope. Posted on February 15, 2018 at 15:35We need to share one SPI bus with LSM9DS1 and other devices. The problem is that when the CS signal is inactive, the chip expect I2C communication on MOSI/SDA line. What happens if there is a communication with other SPI device and CS signal is inactive? Does the chip recognize it is not I2C communication and remains silent or it starts to meddle into?I know the I2C interface can be disabled in the registers, but to disable it I first need to communicate with both  interfaces active.Tomas

This scenario is working fine. we are sampling after getting the data ready interrupt. I have some special cases where i am facing some issues. if there is some delay in step 2 and step 3 due to some other register configuration example configuring thecontrol register 4 then (in between step 2 and 3)i am not getting the data ready interrupt. Posted on February 13, 2018 at 12:54Hi All,I am trying to understand configuration of H3LIS331DL sensor with Data Ready Interrupt.As per my previous posts, I understood Turn On-Time should be given after Configuring the Control Register 1.Here is the sequence I am using to get Data Ready Interrupt.Step1: Give power to Accel SensorStep2: Setting Ctrl_Reg1 with 00111111b(0x3F)Step3: As I am configuring ODR as 1000Hz providing sleep of (1/1000+1ms) 2 ms as per data sheet.Step4: Configuring Ctr_Reg3 with 00000010b (0x02).Step 5: Enabling H3LIS Interrupt 1 and Interrupt 2 pins and Registering call back API.Step 6: Waiting for data ready interrupt.Here I am facing problem is I could not see the Data Ready Interrupt, i.e., Data Ready Interrupt call back function is not triggering.Anybody faced this problem ?Thanks,Siva.#h3lis331 #h3lis331dl-configuration #h3lis

Posted on January 25, 2018 at 12:52When the Sensor tile is hooked to Expansion board, the FP ALL MEMS firmware and the custom firmware is able to stream the audio data to STBlue MS app. However the above said firmware would stream noisy data when the sensor tile is soldered to cradle. Could you folks help us out to identify the cause. Did soldering cause this ? Or are we missing something, because the environmental sensor's data are transmitted via BLE and the code is executing right since we have the boot loader and the firmware running. Or is it due to battery on the cradle ? We are able to use the SWD after soldering and the MIC_CLK pin which is of no use on the cradle should it be left floating ? Is there a procedure on how to solder the core sensor tile on cradle ?Also could you answer to this question on post as well

I am missing one clarification from datasheet of H3LIS331DL.On Page 10 of datasheet H3LIS331DL, Turn on time should be 1/ODR + 1ms.It is clear that based on ODR rate we need to set turn on time.Now my question is this turn on time either we need to provide after power on of the accelerometer or after configuring Control Registers of the accelerometer.Anyone have any idea please clarify on this.Thanks,Siva.#h3lis331dl-odr #h3lis331dl-configuration #h3lis331

I need low consumption current with my current bat.2.I can't assume what is the initial condition that the board will be.3.I want to control the sensitivity. I tried a lot of option with the development kit but all of them didn't give me the desiered situation.will you help me understand if the LIS3DH is the right choice for this task and suggest solutions?thank you!

Posted on November 01, 2017 at 18:16I have an LIS2DH device in my design and it's working - sort of.  I was given some LIS3DH C driver code which I'm using under the advice that the LIS2DH is register-compatible with the LIS3DH.So my requirement is to take 12-bit X,Y,Z readings ten times per second with a timing loop in my code making other sensor readings interleaved with the accelerometer ones and saving the data to flash memory.  The setup code I'm running is listed at the bottom of this post.  My timing code sets up a flag called takeAccelSample and, if that's true (which it is 10 times per second), I take a reading using the code also below.What I observe is that my LIS2DH starts off taking readings and all seems good but, after 3 or 4 thousand samples have been taken, the data turns to junk like 0,0,4 continuously where normal data is 148,-204,12,-148,-212,24, and, occasionally the readings will be -1,-1,

Posted on February 05, 2018 at 23:46After initializing an SPI 3-wire interface with a STM32L4 MCU on a custom board, the driver always returns zero as the pressure value whenever the get pressure method is called. Even the temperature sensor reading is also returning zero as output. Is this an initialization error or calibration error?#stm32l4-spi #lps22hb

My idea is to integrate the sensors into a rubber or silicon layer (5 - 10 mm thick) so that the rubber layer, acting as transducer, compresses the sensor's chamber. I am looking for a digital accelerometer that is capable of detecting ambient response civil structures and of that has a great range of sensitivity, low noise, low powered, and capable of having a freq. response of 0 Hz.   All replies will be much appreciated.
