I saw a strange behavior when using STM32F401RBTx, to show you I added only 1 output as LED and  toggled it.  I have just that much code. I tried with 16 MHz, 48 MHz, 64 MHz, 84 MHz. It went hard fault when speed is 64 MHz or 84 MHz.   

Hi ST expertI'm ready to use STM32G473CBUx now. According to the datasheet, the STM32G473CBUx does not have an analog ground VSSA, only a ground VSS. I have questions:1. The analog input of the internal ADC/DAC is referenced to the chip's VSS, or has STM32G473CBUx internally partitioned an analog ground? 2. When I design the schematic, is the analog power VDDA referenced to VSS?

Hello everyone!  Recently, I have been developing a firmware product based on STM32H750, using FreeRTOS and LwIP. Because the application scenarios for this product frequently involve large volumes of broadcase messages, while the product's own communication does not use broadcast at all. So I enable the ETH MAC filter to detect and drop the broadcast frame by hardware itself, which means reducing the processing load on LwIP.   However, after that I discovery a problem, which is that the hardware also drop ARP broadcast request too! Just because the destination mac address filed in ARP broadcast request is FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF. The result is that many functions relying ARP have been affected, such as ICMP, UDP unicast, TCP client etc. In these functions, if the remote host's ARP cache does not contain the hardware's IP and MAC addresses, ARP broadcast requests and responses must be used.   In the datasheet RM0433, I found a bit called ARPEN(bi

I am implementing a system with two STM32H753 microcontrollers. MCU1 reads ADC data and sends it over UART to MCU2 using UART DMA on ADC conversion. MCU2 reads data from UART via DMA and is supposed to do some filtering (among other things) to the received data. Earlier, all of the tasks were done by a single MCU (hence it was simpler, as we had access to the ADC data buffer already). The issue I am facing is that the UART Receive DMA is never triggering the HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback() callback no matter what I do. I have tried the same with UART_Receive_IT() with no results either. To help me ensure that it is not a configuration issue, I configured the same UART in a separate project (which is more of a simpler example of what I am trying to do) and verified my configuration to be working (posted about it earlier). 

Hello, We're working on a custom board for the STM32H750IBX. Our boards arrived. The first time, the chip was installed poorly and shorted out. We assembled a new board at the SMT factory with the new chip, but we still can't connect to the chip to program it.We checked the voltage and the connection as best we could. We couldn't check the chip itself because it's a BGA package. However, we did an X-ray, and everything looks fine.We tried connecting with STMCUBE IDE and ST_LINK Utility, but they still can't recognize the target.We've exhausted all possible solutions and are asking the community for help. Schematics:

I am using the NUCLEO-L433RC-P with the blue top switch (pin PC13) configured as a wake pin.When the switch is pressed, the MCU should wake, then turn the LED on, then shutdown.But for some reason the MCU wakes twice as observed by the following behaviour: Switch pressedMCU wakes (LED turns on)MCU shuts down (LED turns off)MCU wakes again (LED turns on)LED finally shuts down (LED turns off)This happens even though the switch is only pressed once. The switch has RC filters so its not a debounce issue, especially as it happens even if the switch is held down.  

I have set PA3 pin as input with pull up mode. But testing this pin by multimeter I get high impendance state (0.5V) on it. Must be 3.3V (logical 1). I use stm32F417ZGT6.

I'm working on a custom board using an STM32H743IIT6. In general, the board is working, but I'm running into an issue with the RTC. The RTC is running accurately, but when I reset the board, the RTC resets. This happens even if I just terminate and restart the connected debugger, without disconnecting power. I've read through about 20 pages of RTC related posts here, and have checked all sorts of things:- I commented out the Cube/HAL code that initializes the RTC to a specific value- I checked the battery (1.6V with a 357 battery)- I tried using a method described on this forum: After initializing the RTC, store a magic number to a backup register. If that magic number is found in the backup register on startup, don't initialize the RTC again. It didn't help. I took this code out, because the RTC itself has a flag that indicates whether it's been initialized or not, and the HAL code skips initialization if the RTC is already initialized, based on that flag.-

I'm using a NUCLEO-L4A6ZG board with the STM32L4A6ZG MCU. My project uses the microSD connector for serial communication with a computerThe microSD connector uses lpuart1. I use uart_irq_callback_user_data_set to install a callback for received data. This works perfectly from a cold boot (power disconnected). The callback is invoked as data is received. From a warm boot (reset without disconnecting power), the receive callback is never invoked. In this state, even though the receive callback is never called, the STM32L4A6ZG can still transmit data over lpuart1.I changed the Device Tree to use uart3 instead (with an external serial-to-usb bridge). There are no code changes. That works perfectly every time – the receive callback is invoked after both cold and warm reboots.Any suggestions?

Hello,I am working on custom bootloader + application setup on a STM32G070CBT6Currently, I need to store bootloader flag that indicate whether the MCU should jump to the bootloader code or to the application code.Since the movement i am reserving 1 flash page(2KB) ,just to store single flag bit.This feels like a waste of memory, since I only need 1 bit of storage.My questions are:     1. Can I use Option Bytes memory area to store the custom flag? Are Option bytes  writable at runtime for application/bootloader use, or are they limited to ST system configurations (e.g., RDP, WRP, BOR levels)?      2. If Option Bytes memory area are not suitable ,is there another small memory area(apart from flash)          that is recommended for storing such a small boot flag?I need onl

Good day,I am writing firmware for a custom board using the STM32G0B1KET6 and am experiencing issues related to writing a serial number to the internal flash.As far as I can tell, this MCU has 512 KB of flash split into 2 banks of 128 pages (each page is 2 KB). Hi everyone,I’m trying to generate two PWM signals with 50% duty cycle and a 90° phase shift, to simulate an A/B type output.I managed to achieve this using two different timers and adjusting the compare values, but I’d like to know if it’s possible to do it with a single timer, specifically TIM1.I noticed there are Asymmetric PWM1 and Asymmetric PWM2 modes, but I don’t really understand how they work and whether they can be used to get this kind of phase shift between two channels.Has anyone tried something similar or knows how to configure TIM1 to produce two PWM outputs in quadrature (90° out of phase) without relying on a second timer? Thanks!

I’m running into a strange issue when trying to jump into the STM32 bootloader.I’ve built an FDCAN bootloader flasher using an STM32H7 along with a Windows host program. This setup allows me to reprogram both virgin and already-programmed. To do this, I set the BOOT pin high and reset the MCU (controlled by another MCU via test pads). This method works flawlessly every time, and it’s just as fast as using an ST-Link V3.Now, I want to achieve the same result without using the BOOT pin (on already programmed MCU) —by sending a CAN message to trigger a jump into the STM32U5 internal bootloader. However, when I switch my programmer MCU to FDCAN mode and attempt communication, the bootloader does not respond....My hardware is designed so that, by default, the CAN transceiver and all required circuitry are active and ready. But once I perform the jump, the MCU simply won’t respond to FDCAN messages.Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Hello,I have a ADC clock running at 96MHz prescaler divided by 10, 12bit, Sampling time 47.5 Cycles. I am just trying to sample this DC volgtages.  I have a battery that has around 20Volts, and I am stepping this voltage down using the voltage divider as U8, U1, U2 to be sampled by the ADC. I have two ADC measuring BN, and Vref to measure the current across the 1Ohm resistor. I am getting consistently accurate values, but I have this random 5mv difference or 30mV spikes that happens out of no where. I am not sure how to fix this to improve my ADC resolution. Could you please give me an idea how to proceed? I really appreciate the time and effort for this matter Thank you

Hi,We are using the STM32H725VGH6 MCU and are plannign to use the internal SMPS for VCORE.With regards to the connections required for the VLXSMPS pin, I would just like to confirm that a 220pF capacitor is required on this pin in the "Direct SMPS Supply" configuration. It seems unusual to have a capacitor directly on the output of a Buck SMPS. It is also not show in Figure 2 of "AN5419: Getting started with STM32H723/733, STM32H725/735 and STM32H730 Value Line hardware development". However it is recommended in Table 2 & Figure 3.

I tried to set readout protection via ST-LINK CLI - it's enabled and disabled correctly, but after RDP=0 I can't erase/write chip - I've got an error on write operation. Hello,I’m using the STM32H747. When I set the RCC power source to RCC → Power parameters → Supply source = LDO, the core locks up; if I select SMPS, there’s no issue.When I set CM7 to its maximum clock frequency (480 MHz) and CM4 to 240 MHz, the tool forces LDO and I can’t choose SMPS. In fact, for any CPU clock higher than 400 MHz, LDO becomes mandatory.When I run the MCU with LDO, I can’t operate at the maximum clock frequency. If the core locks up, I set BOOT=1 via R192 and perform a Full Chip Erase. After that, if I still keep LDO selected, I can connect once and program the device, but on the second programming attempt—or after unplugging and replugging the board—I get a “No target” error a

Hello,The problem is that we have made 50 customized boards using STM32F412RET6TR, 2 of them has the same issue. It does not run the code (forzen) at cold start up, but will work after a manual reset or power unstable.One Device was fixed by replacing the MCU, another was remaining for investigating the issue.Initially, I thought it is the problem of start up reset was released to early, so an RC mod was added to the reset line, but it does not work. Probe on the reset signal and VDD was normal. And later debug shows that the program hit the Reset_Handler and failed in SystemClock_Config section.Here's some log:#77, find the program can hit reset_handler, and go to error handler, Use several way to debug and make sure error happens in Systemclock_config.Adding Delay 50ms/several seconds at start up not help, later found that LSE_STARTUP_TIMEOUT is 5000ms, so the LSE will not recover over time
