Hi all, i am going through deeper configuration of GPDMA on STM32U5 and there are some things i do not understand.S/DBL_1 in TR1 register is able to vrite destination/source burst length in range 0-63 but FIFO size is 8 bytes for channels 0-11 and 32bytes for channels 12-15. Why is burst length possible to set up up to 64? How is GPDMA able to buffer that into FIFO? Isnt it a mistake in RM0456? 

Is there a way to set the FDCAN TX and RX FIFO sizes for STM32H7R7 in CubeIDE?I snooped around and found a list of macros that are responsible for determining the FDCAN RAM size in the stm32h7rsxx_hal_fdcan.c. Do I just modify these values to set the FIFO sizes? Here is my configuration parameters. 

I am using the Advanced and General purpose timers on the STM32G474VE for PWM generation and Input capture.Is it possible, for example, to use TIM4 Ch1 to generate PWM output and TIM4 Ch2 to be used as Input Capture simultaneously?If these 2 features are used on different channels of the same timer are there any timing issues that could prevent me from using them simultaneously to drive, for example, a PWM controlled fan with a Tachometer that generates signals for the MCU?

Greetings, I'm making a project, using a B-U585I-IOT02A board in which I made a Java program that can flash a firmware (using the USB DFU protocol) and also set Readout Protection to Level 1 through the Option Bytes. The program can flash the firmware and set RDP level 1 successfully, but I wanted to be able to flash a firmware, using the USB DFU while having the RDP set to level 1 and I can't. Every time I set the RDP level 1, I can't upgrade using USB DFU, I need to use the STLINK, go to the STM32CubeProgrammer and set the Option Bytes back to level 0, which will mass erase the flash. I know I can't do all this with the STM32CubeProgrammer, but I want to be able to do it with my program (for personal reasons).So the question is, how can I upgrade the firmware using USB DFU, with RDP set to level 1? Thank you!

I would need to know how much power does an STM32G0 consume when kept in reset by pulling down the RST pin.Is it specified somewhere?I'm afraid it might be more than what the part uses running a well power optimized software, right?

Hello, I'm using two H533 Nucleo Boards and I'm trying to establish an I3C communication between them. There are no specific examples for this protocol using two of these boards, instead there are only examples for a sensor which I don't have. So, I tried to copy the example presented in Introduction to I3C for STM32 MCUs Application Note. This did not work. Also, I tried to adapt the example for the H503 called I3C_Target_ENTDAA_IT, copying the main.c. Also didn't work. Hello ST Community,I am working with STM32H750VBTx on STM32CubeIDE. I use UART7 + DMA with HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA()to receive responses from a GSM modem.Problem:- GSM responses are stored in my gsm_response_buffer[] incrementally- For example: first "RDY", then "AT OK", then "ATE0 OK" → all get appended- I expected each new DMA reception to start at buffer[0]. Debug screenshots are attached.Could you please advise how to properly useDMA reception so each new response starts fromgsm_response_buffer[0]?Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to seek guidance in pushing the SPI CLK line output to, at least, 65 MHz.In theory, this should be possible according to the Reference Manual by setting the GPIO speed to Very High in Vdd = 3.3. Currently, I am able to drive the signal at 40MHz and still get a decent square signal with a bit of over and undershoot, however, pushing above these speeds causes signal degradation and distortion. The rise/and fall times for the wave seem to be too slow, causing further problems. I've tried enabling the cell compensation with a sequence similar to the one below as per the Reference Manual

Hello!Can I use 'TRGO2' event signals from Advanced Timers (1,8,20) as event sources for Slave Timers? The Reference Manual (RM0440 Rev 9, p. 381), the Internet, CubeMX and Google - all say "Yes", but in practice I could not use them for Slave Timers. I only found in one document that it is not allowed and now I do not understand whether it is true or not. Thank you.

I'm attempting to implement a USB MSC Device using the USB_OTG_HS on a STM32U5A9J-DK1. I'm using the STM32CubeMX version 6.14.1 and STM32Cube_FW_U5_V1.7.0 to create a USBX stand-alone (without THREADX) MSC device. The project builds and runs, with successful initialization of the USBX device subsystem. However, connecting to a host does not trigger the OTG_HS_IRQHandler() interrupt. A couple of questions:A call to MX_USB_OTG_HS_PCD_Init() is generated in main by CubeMX, but I don't find anywhere in the code where PA11 and PA12 are initialized to the USB_OTG_HS alternate functions.Since enabling VBUS Sensing via PA9 is not an available option for this device in the CubeMX, and I see from the schematic that VBUS_SENSE is connected to PG1, I'm not at all clear how connection to a host is detected to fire the USB_OTG_HS interrupt.The STM32Cube_FW_U5 only contains examples for USBX Host, so I'm not sure where to look for guidance.  &n

Hello,To protect the device's software, I am updating the RDP values in my own bootloader software, and to protect it in the event of a sudden power outage, I am also updating the BOR values. I am performing these updates only using HAL APIs. Additionally, I am writing the option bytes one by one. During development and testing, this worked flawlessly. However, the device has now entered serial production, and we are programming in large quantities. So far, 200 MCUs have been programmed, and approximately 50 of them ended up with an RDP value of 0xFF and the BOR value not set. I urgently need assistance regarding this issue. Production has been halted and is waiting for this problem to be resolved. Hi everyone,Im currently trying to use SPI with DMA mode on STM32U031G6 with an S2LP,In this specific case I want to obtain the number of bytes present in my FIFO (10 bytes here), but the problem is that my reading through DMA mode does not work.Below is the data that I analyze in SPI using a logic analyzer : we have the read command (0x01) + the FIFO status command (0x90) + the command (0x00) where I get my response 0x0A or my 10 bytes. What I don't understand is that the read_1_registre_DMA function returns 1 on the 3rd data item that I want to read as below :

What is the sequence and APIs to erase and program the Engineering bytes?There are APIs to handle Main flash, and APIs to handle OTP, but it is not clear how the Engineering bytes should be handled.Thanks

Greetings!I am using the STM32U031 with STM32CubeMX HAL as an SPI Slave and would like to receive data that has variable length (max 50 bytes). I am using software NSS and my current approach is to start a DMA Rx/Tx transfer (using HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA) of the maximum expectable length when NSS goes down (in the corresponding GPIO callback) and to abort the transfer when NSS rises again (using HAL_SPI_Abort). From a functional perspective this approach works, but the abortion of the Transfer currently takes about 1.4 ms (at 8 MHz MSI Clock). As a result,  the answer to the Master is not ready when it clocks again. Is there anything I can do better / different to improve the timing?I know that using HAL_SPI_Receive_DMA instead of HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA for Rx would reduce the time required for aborting the transfer, but then it seems that I have no control over the data that is transmitted while r

We have a working production firmware for the STM32H7B3 that uses a Winbond W25Q01JVZEIM external flash using QSPI in memory-mapped mode to store data and assets for a TouchGFX and other applications.Now, due to internal flash limitations, we are attempting to execute some code directly from the same external flash. Hello, I am working on simple program to read ADC using the STM32u585QII microcontroller. I am using polling method in Scan mode on 4 channels. All set as 14 bit but understood the readin will be in 12 bit. The problem is the values I am getting are not reflecting the real value at the input. I am receiving something like  1586 cnts on 1st and 3rd channel and 2395 cnts on 2nd and 4th channel. Values make no sense assuming I have stable (verified with oscilloscope) voltage 1.61V. Vref is 2.5V external. Also when I am trying change voltage at the inputs the reading doesn't change. When the MCU is placed in Standby Mode, where does the CPU begin to execute when exiting the mode? (for example, on an RTC event)  Is it a reset or a return from interrupt?  RM0394 isn't clear on this. 

Hi all, I am trying to use FDCAN with Baud rate switch (500 kB / 2 MBit) activated and I want to send 64 Byte. Processor is STM32H7A3. Project was set up with CubeMX V. 6.11.1 and HAL FW_H7 V1.11.2. Clock for FDCAN is 80 MHz.   The problem is that the system only sends with 500 kB and 8 Bytes only. I am transmitting the data to my PC using a PEAK USB dongle (FDCAN capable with BRS) and in parallel check the messages on a scope.  I don't know, why it doesn't switch to 2 MBit and I only see  8 Bytes with 500 kBit on my scope and on PCAN-Explorer.
