STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Hello everyone, I am on Windows 11 and am using STM32CubeIDE version 1.18.0 (also tried on verison 1.18.1). I have logged into myST within the software as well (through Help->STM32Cube Updates -> Connection to myST). I can edit the pins in the .ioc file just fine, but I cannot open the code editor; I keep getting this particular error. I have tried closing and reopening the app, restarting my computer, deleting and reinstalling and downgraded the version to try to verify if the problem was in the software. Can someone help me? Screenshot of the app:

When I try to install the CubeProgrammer, I get the following error message:“SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.19.0” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.I get the same error message when I unzip and double click in the finder or use the terminal with zsh or bash.  I also tried version 2-18 and 2-17 with the same result.I have successfully install CubeIDE and CubeMX.

why v2 stlink (stm32h7 series original Nucleo Board  ) + cupeProgrammer not connecting with w25q128 flash(external loader) .  external loader not working since from cube ide v18.0.0 has been released and recent version V19.0.0 having cubeMx qspi enable itself .I was fine  with qspi +cube ide v17.0.0  and qspi+cube programmer + CLIVEONE stldr.Even i have downgraded the cube ide again to v 17.0.0 and below version  the same work i carried out for cube programmer as well but nothing worked out .this is problem of v2 stlink driver or something else ? .  

For well-known reasons, I'm developing on STM32F4 using DAPLink, but encountered an issue when trying to track analog signal variations with STM32CubeMonitor. CubeMonitor seems unable to detect DAPLink. Is there any solution to resolve this problem?

16bit SDRAM with 4 banks, 9bit column address, 13bit row should show as 32MB memory area,but it is shown as 16MB.You have to change column address bits to 10bit and back to 9 bits to set the value correctly (32MB).It is dangerous beacause code generated with wrong 16MB area generate exception, if more memory have been used.

  When I try to log in to my ST account in STM32CubeMX, it sends me an error message that says, 'This feature requires an internet connection.' However, my internet connection is working well, and I can use other browsers to surf the internet normally. How can I solve this problem?

Hi everyone.I've got a question about a strange aspect of my project and the compiling process.I have some files to be compiled for my project. The compile process goes fine, everything is correctly compiled and looking both on console output and build target, all the required file are correctly compiled.What strangely happens is that if I look to the size of the .text section at the end of compile process, it is equal to only 96Bytes which are a very small size infact my code doesn't work correctly both on debug and on release.Any suggestions where can I look to try to fix the issue? I've already given a look to the linked files (headers) and source location tab (all the required folders are into the sources list), same for .make files, and .map files Wich contains all the required files. The only strange file is the .list file that is very small and, looking to the disassembly cose, there isn't all the code I was expecting but only a small piece. Any advice? 

When I assign pinouts for LED1 and LED3 on the NUCLEO-H753ZI in STM32CubeMX with the BSP selected, they are no longer assigned when the project is reloaded.

When I use cubeide, it is OK to select c++ as targeted language. However, I can not find such a option in cubemx. Does cubemx support to generate c++ project with cmake? If not, could it be supported in the future?

Hello,I'm experiencing some hard unstabilities navigating in stm32cubeprogrammer 2.20.0 UI on an up to date debian trixie system. Even without being connected to programmer, attempting to start tool in production programming mode frequently leads to crash, making tool unreliable. I have already updated my CubeIDE to the latest version 1.19.0 available on the official website. After writing the code with it, I attempted to download it to my F407VGT6 via STLink, but the download has never been successful. It always prompts "Could not verify ST device!" When I replaced one board with another, I was able to successfully download. The only difference between the two boards is that the silk-screening of the two VGT6s is slightly different. One has a small circle with "e3" inside and can be downloaded, while the one that cannot be downloaded has "e4" in the circle. I wonder if CubeIDE has not yet adapted to this chip. Has anyone encountered the same situation? I hope to get your solution!

 Hi everyone,I'm currently debugging UART communication (USART3) between an STM32G070CBTx and my PC using Hercules terminal (serial software). The setup seems to be working. I can see data being sent and received. I'm monitoring the TX_buffer and RX_buffer via Live Expressions in STM32CubeIDE.The issue is that when I try to view the contents of these buffers as ASCII characters, the debugger shows this error:72 '<error reading variable: Converting character sets: Invalid argument>'However, the buffer values are correctly shown as decimal ASCII values (e.g. 72 for 'H', 101 for 'e', etc.).A photo of the Live Expression view showing the errorTX_BUFFERRX_BUFFERA screenshot of Hercules receiving the correct string My question is:Is there a way to fix or work around this character set conversion error in the Live Expression window?Is it related to how the debugger is interpreting the memory or something I can configure in STM32CubeIDE?Any insights or workarounds would be grea

The documentation is inconsistent, scattered across multiple sources, and often inaccurate. This has made development more difficult than it should be.For context:I’ve previously worked with the Nucleo-F401RE, and the development experience was significantly smoother — configuration was straightforward, and documentation was far more coherent.Here's the issue I'm currently facing:I imported the Template_XIP project into STM32CubeIDE. The project compiled, uploaded to the board successfully, and I was able to debug without any issues. I have many thousand devices which need to be reprogrammed which are already have RDP set to 0xBB.  The Automatic Programming Mode works wonderfully well for devices which are at RDP=0xAA but the programmer fails when reprograming 0xBB parts in an automatic way.(Please do not confuse my question with setting RDP AFTER programming.  My problem is re-programming parts already in a state of RDP=0xBB.)The non-automatic mode works as expected by first setting the option bytes (which triggers the internal chip erase) and secondly to reprogram, but this is not a useful solution for the number of parts needing to be reflashed.In automatic mode the tools expected operation is to set any non-RDP=0xAA value to 0xAA, wait for the internal chip erase to occur and then download the data to the device.  This step appears to be missing from the gui code.Pasted below are the annotated log files for both failed automatic attempts and successful manual attempts.I am using STM32CubeProgramm

Hi,I've 12 build and test servers to install the STM32Cubeprogrammer on.I'm not looking forward to going this manually.Especially as I've got to side install 2 versions.I'd very much like to make this part of our infrastructure configuration as code (in ansible).Is there a way to silently install the STM32Cubeprogrammer?Pete.P.S It will also be useful for automation prep of new start dev machines.

HiI'm working on a firmware based on a STM32WL libraries example, specifically LoraWan_End_Node for WL55JC.The example sends data every 10s but also performs several operations using leds and timer. I need to remove some parts of this original code and sometimes write outside the USER_CODE_BEGIN/END sections.The problem is, when I use CubeMX it will restore the original code where I changed it. Is there any way to prevent this restoring? And at the same time be able to use the CubeMX.Thanks 

I'm running IDE version 1.13.1 on MacOS 11.7.1 on a MBP with a dual core 2.8Ghz i7. Unlike every other IDE / CAD package that I use, STM32CubeIDE pegs my CPU really high and spins up the fans even when doing NOTHING. As in, there is no project open, no editors, no HW configuration, literally NOTHING.Why? 

I try to install STM32CubeIDE on Linux / OpenSuse 15.3.When downloading the latest RPM (1.7.0) I click "Get Latest", accept and then it automatically downloads the Linux Generic Installer.How can I get the RPM? Can somebody confirm the problem?Anyway, I then run the generic installer script and accept all license related points.I get some error messages:       libusbx >= 1.0 is needed by st-stlink-server-2.0.2-3.x86_64 Problem: conflicting requests - nothing provides libncurses.so.5 needed by st-stm32cubeide_1.7.0-1.7.0-10852_20210715_0634.x86_64 - nothing provides st-stlink-server needed by st-stm32cubeide_1.7.0-1.7.0-10852_20210715_0634.x86_64(try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages)Regarding libncurses:~> rpm -qa | grep libncurseslibncurses6-6.1-lp152.7.67.x86_64libncurses5-6.1-lp152.7.67.x86_64libncurses 5 is installed. Why does the installer complain?Regarding libusbx:The home page of libusbx says

I am trying to debug my code, but it just ain't working the way it's working in e.g. the STM32CubeIDE intro-video on Youtube; I'm getting "No source available for main()", instead of Eclipse displaying where in the code it's actually at.I haven't changed any of the default-settings, other than where my workspace is and yes, I have build a debug-version instead of release-version and yes, I do see "-g3" - flag enabled in the compilation-console.How do I fix this?

I just updated CubeMX to 6.15.0 and I can't start a new project anymore.The spinning wheel keeps sinning forever after going File/New Project or clicking on any on the shortcuts on the right side of the screen under "I need to:" section.I tried to refresh data, use auto-refresh under connection and updates, etc. Nothing works.I'm on Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2.Older projects still work after conversion, I can still open older .ioc projects, but the dialog is asking me to migrate the project and I don't want to do that in case I need to downgrade the CubeMX application.Is there a way to downgrade to a pervious version?Thank you!

Hello,I recently run into problem with not being able to debug my applications any more.I use STM32CubeIDE (and Atollic) without major problems for years now, but suddenly debugging does not start.I can flash the the device through the Run button. When I click debug it is also flashed but than progress stops at around 95% percent and stays there forever. Logs do not look the same every time so just some examples here.  I tested multiple applications with 3 programmers  (ST link V2, ST-link V2 from 3rd party, ST-link on Nucleo Board) connected to multiple custom devices that previously worked. I use 4-wire programming (V, SWDIO,SWCLC,GND)However when using Nucleo board directly it starts normally.I experimented with dubug configurations, reinstalled the IDE, drivers, tried older versions, nothing seems to make a difference.Thank you for the support.regards Jeronym
