TDA7419 I2C register read-back does not work

I am trying to read back I2C registers on the TDA7419 audio processor to verify their contents.  I've try both standard I2C register reads as well as the custom method on Page 29 of the datasheet (rev7).  In all cases, a NACK is received and no data is transmitted.

Does register read-back work on the TDA7419.  If so, does anyone have an explicit timing diagram?

I am one of the ST technical staff supporting this line of devices.

I apologize for the delay in the answer, but it has been brought to my attention only now.

It is not possible to read back the 'write' registers of the TDA7419: they are write only.

What most customers have been doing up to now is to refresh the registers of the TDA7419 (and of all the other audio processors in our car-radio CSP portfolio) regularly (e.g. every minute or so), in case one wanted to make sure that the programmed values would not be corrupted by unforeseen circumstances and prevented the normal operation of the car radio.
