Hello @MM..1 , 

Thanks for sharing your request. I will see what we can do about it and get back. 

In the meantime, I suggest using a workaround following these steps: 
1. Right mouse click on the image
2. Select "Magnify image" 

This will allow you to have a zoom in / zoom out option.

Definitely see inconsistency, perhaps related to the image type. ie for PNG but not JPG ?

Also find the two-point finger stretching on Android is frustrating, and also having to down load attached images to see them.

Could you please share a direct link when you come across an image with the zoom control you are referring to? We need an example to be able to investigate it.

Zoom controller is currently only available for file attachment previews. We will pass along the topic to the developer team to understand the effort involved in adding a zoom controller for images in posts. Depending on the estimation, we will decide how to move forward with this topic. We will keep you posted.
