Putting the code on github is a great idea.

ST however, elected not to do this. ST gives he code away, but you will be asked for your email address in exchange.

The code WAS given away and you are completely free to do anything with it you wish - including putting it on github.

As one of the authors, I would love to see the community improve and maintain the driver.

I'd like to claim I'm perfect, but there is too much evidence for me to make that claim.

And I'd be willing to bet that any changes you make could would find their way back into ST's version.

So go ahead and post it.

Then either use this page, or ST's bug reporting page to advertize your changes.

OK, for now please update the core files in https://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/embedded-software/proximity-sensors-software/stsw-img013.html to UAPI Release Version 3.4.0.

The core API files differ from https://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/embedded-software/proximity-sensors-software/stsw-img009.html.
