Hi all,

I'am wondernig about the max XTalk level in kcps which various FlightSense products can compensate. I found only for the new VL53L8CX Sensor a  xtalk compensation limit of 300 kcps - mentioned in application note  AN5939 in section 7 : Guidelines for the cover glass of the VL53L8 Time-of-Flight (ToF) multizone sensor family - Application note (st.com).

What about the max xtalk compensation limits for the products VL53L1X/CB and VL53L5CX  ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Yes it does. You have to do the multiplication.

Thanks to your question, we have also updated the AN5856 and AN5831 for which there was an error in the unit.

Anne

Hello,

For the VL53L8CX Sensor the xtalk compensation limit is 300 kcps as you found in the AN5939.
You can find the same type of AN for the VL53L5CX. It is AN5856.  The xtalk compensation limit is 100 kcps.

Regarding the L1X, you can find the AN531. It will give you details on cover glass. The VL53L1X is less sensitive to crosstalk. It is around 3Kcps/SPAD

Best regards
Anne

Hello Anne,

thanks for the fast reply to my questions. I' am still wondering how to deal with your answer to the xtalk compensation limit for the VL53L1X or VL53L1CB. Does 3kcps/SPAD mean this value  needs to be multiplied with the number of active SPAD to get the max XTalk compensation limit for the VL53L1X and VL53L1CB sensors ? So typical xtalk_l1_limit = 211 SPAD * 3 kcps/SPAD =   633 kcps ?
