VL53L5CX safety for human detection
Hello,
I plan to use VL53L5CX to measure the distance between the robot and the user (human) in the walker project. I would like to ask if it is safe or not.

Absolutely eye save!
The FDA came up with the standards for laser eye-safety. And the define Class 1 as eye safe.
(Those laser pointers are class 3B - acutally quite powerful.)
ST tests every single device off the production line to guarentee it meets the Class 1 standard.
When you get close to production, contact ST for the laser safety test certificate. We will send it to you along with an FDA accession letter issued by the FDA saying that the devices are acknoledged by the FDA.
