Which is the best sensor for outdoor distance measuring with features similar to VL53L1x.

We have already created a people counter using VL53L1X which counts people entering and leaving a space. This device gives perfect results in lab setup but goes haywire in direct sunlight.

We would like to use any other sensor with similar capabilities of having multiple Area of Interests, etc, but that can work in direct sunlight as well as reflected sunlight or no sunlight scenarios.

All suggestions are welcome.

unfortunately none of them are really good. But start with the VL53L5CX, and do some tests.

It's the best we have.

If you need more, I'm afraid you are going to have to stay tuned.
