Solved

Hi, I would like to rename the USB device name when it is connected to USB port and recognized by Windows. Is it possible to show a custom name instead of "STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port"? Thanks

This name comes from the built-in USB driver in Windows, where STMicroelectronics has its own VID (Vendor ID). For custom names you would need to get your own VID from the USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum), please read details at USB logo-license and Getting a Vendor ID.

To save some money, ST offers sublicensing for smaller companies. If you already have a sales contact with STMicroelectronics (via our sales offices or your local distributor), please contact them for the sublicense request.
