M41T83 crystal will not start to vibrate
I use a RTC IC M41T83 in our prototypes and can access this RTC via I2C bus (reading and setting timestamps). Unfortunately the crystal does not start. At startup I set the ST bit to 1 (write address and write a byte via I2C) and then I set the bit to 0 again (write address and write a byte via I2C). But the crystal does not react, I have a 32kHZ crystal and a 32.768 kHz) tested with suitable capacitors 12 or 12.5 p. When I read out the flag OF afterwards it is also on (1).
At the power pin and also at the battery pin (via 1k Ohm resistor) a stable operating voltage of 3V3 is available.
Unfortunately I can't recognize any faults on HW and SW and I wanted to ask you if you have a sample code for implementation or if I missed a relevant point.
