Question

Preferred way to temporarily disable sourcing with STUSB4700/STUSB4710

Hello,

we would like to add a charge functionality via USB PD for an USB hub. Charging should be possible for the upstream port, e.g. the host shall be charged. The tricky part is, that the charge process has to be activated and deactivated during runtime (it is a battery powered application) without interrupting the USB data communication. Is this possible with the STUSB4700/STUSB4710 ICs? If yes, what's the best way to do this? Delete all power data objects in the beginning and reconfigure them during runtime? Or is there a better way? Unfortunately we have no experience with USB PD so far and we really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance and best regards

Ok, it seems that the STUSB47xx can't act as UFP/source. Is this correct?
