STEVAL-ILL066V2 evaluation board

Hello, I have received for the completion of my thesis the STEVAL-ILL066V2 evaluation board. What I would like to ask is when I connect the board on my pc the board seems to power on. I have downloaded the open source firmware that the official site has but I cant enter into an environment that I can start working on it. I tried using some application files that the firmware folder has but still I don't know how to start programming it. Anyone has any information or can help me somehow ?
