STUSB4500L Schematics review + questions

Hello all,

I am attaching the schematics for a PD sink system we have designed and built. Our aim is to get this sink system to accept both PD and non PD type C power supplies and transfer their power to the 'FRONT_PWR' path on our schematics.

Of course a microcontroller is connected and controlling the PD parameters, etc. A few questions:

  1. Is this schematics correct?
  2. If a 15V/3A type C (non PD) power supply is connected, will this system accept it and transfer it's power?
  3. We are having an issue where sometimes when a power supply is connected, the power output will work for a fraction of a second and then shut down. What could be causing this?

Thank you very much for your help!

Nir.

    Hi,

Did you ever get an answer to your question, or figure out what was causing the shutdown?

I have a very similar situation, except at 20V.

Hi, I just realized I was using the STUSB4500L  part, which is limited to 5V, as encountered by several others on the main thread. It looks like we want the part without the L.
