FIFO data in Stream-to-FIFO mode

Hi,

It's mentioned in the datasheet that the sensor will convert the FIFO from streaming (reading data all the time) into FIFO (holding the data until it's read) 

If i am getting it right, then my question is

When exactly will the sensor read ? 

Will it read 32 samples after the interrupt and then stops ?

Or will it just turn into FIFO immediately after the interrupt ? and discard the samples after the interrupt holding the data before the interrupt ?
