Gesture EVK 1.4.0 doesn't communicate with VL53L8CX

I have a problem with the Gesture Evaluation Kit v1.4.0(EVK from now on) in combination with Nucleo F401RE and VL53L8CX ToF sensor. After uploading the binary file that comes with EVK, the GUI app sees the comport that Nucleo is connected to, but when trying to connect, it says that there is no response. There is no problem like this using same version of EVK and same Nucleo in pair with VL53L5CX ToF.

Solved. Used wrong cable for connection.
