Question

How can I manually control the background calibration of my IIS2ICLX-Accelerometer?

hi!
I have a problem with the calibration of the IIS2ICLX-Accelerometer. I see there is happening a calibration but because I make a sensor fusion in the next step, I want to have the calibration fixed once its done. In the data-sheet and the forum I couldnt find a solution. Is there a possibility to manually control the background calibration process?
Thanks!

Hi @Tim0_ ,

The accelerometer is calibrated at production level, and the calibration values are stored in the reserved registers, and it is not suggested to modify them. You could use a calibration library, such as the MotionAC library: it provides real-time accelerometer calibration through offset and scale factor coefficients used to correct accelerometer data.

hi!

Thanks for your kind reply.

I still have the impression that kind of background calibration happens in the firmware. When I start up the sensor, values are grossly off but after few iterations of aligning the different axes to gravity the output data at rest get closer to zero. Am I dreaming? kind regard
