Hi,​We found a problem with high current by using LSM6DSLTR.LSM6DSLTR is used to trigger system from sleep mode.​The normal system sleep current is 0.5~0.9mA. The abnormal one becomes 3.25mA.​This issue is related with this LSM6DSLTR IC. When we replaced this new IC, this current will fall into normal range.When we swapped this IC from normal and abnormal units, this high current occurs in suspected defect IC.​IC Data code is 221.​LSM6DSLTR supports for 3D accelerometer and 3D gyroscope, but gyroscope is disenable in this moment.​May you give advice if there is any potential problem for hardware circuit or firmware setting? The possible configurations of the accelerometer filters are clear:While the properties of those filters and what fields in the registers controls them is not clear at all.Ex documentation https://www.digikey.com/htmldatasheets/production/1639232/0/0/1/LSM9DS1-Datasheet.pdf has this table:BW_SCAL_ODR - Hm, this is bandwidth selection of what filter? Does this table speak about LPF or HPF cutoff?BW_XL - It says that this property of anti-aliasing filter. Where is this filter on the picture above?DCF - High pass and low pass digital filter. What is this filter? Where is this filter on the chart in the beginning? Table 71 speaks about low pass. How about the high pass frequency?How can I piece all this together? In fact, I see that accelerometer measurements are pretty noisy. So, some filtering is needed. But how?

The datasheet on the LSM9DS1 chip on page 47 is very unclear on how the configuration of filters is supposed to work. They just tell that the fields INT_SEL and OUT_SEL are existing and give this diagram: I have hard time trying to understand what those dashed lines might mean. Why are they dashed? I understand that INT_SEL and OUT_SEL are similar. So, I give just one table below. I tend to decipher the situation this way:Can anybody comment if my guess is right and what should I put into the missing fields?

I am use lsm6dso with NUCLEO—F401RE board. I want to know what are the roll pitch yaw sequence of calculation. We can not transform body frame to naviagtion if we don't know the transformation matrix sequence.

Dear SIR,​I have found a polling mode reference code in the following linkhttps://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STMems_Standard_C_drivers/blob/master/lsm6dsr_STdC/examples/lsm6dsr_read_data_polling.c​The code demonstrates that after reading b'1 of XLDA bit or GDA bit,it is OK to read XL data or Gyro data.​But on page 20(Fig.1 below) and 25(Fig.2 below) of AN5358 "LSM6DSR: always-on 3D accelerometer and 3D gyroscope", it tells us that user needs to discard the data number, which depends on the LPF2 or HP filter setting or ODR.My question is if polling mode is used, read the STATUS_REG and get the data ready bit is b'1 for XLDA or GDA,Do we still need to handle discard samples? or We do NOT discard any samples when read data ready bit value is b'1Thanks,E-John​ 

Hi, folks,I'm using LIS2DE12 on the PCB. The purpose: the device should inform the firmware, if the PCB has moved - intruder detection. I successfully programmed the device for INT1 on 6D movement. It works fine in general.On the PCB I have also a small (10mm) piezo buzzer. As soon as the buzzer sounds, LIS2DE12 detects a movement. The distance between LIS2DE12 and the buzzer is about 3cm (1.2"). I watched the data from LIS2DE12 during the buzzer run and I saw really a wild dance on X/Y/Z axies.Well, I do understand, that the buzzer causes the vibrations, but did not expect to see values +/- 0.4g and more! The accelerometer has only a high pass filter (to exclude the DC components) but no low pass filter to cut off anything above 1kHz (actually, the buzzer runs at 4kHz - at its own resonance).Do you have any ideas to avoid false positive detection while the buzzer is running?P.S. reducing the sampling frequency (now at 400Hz) as a "low pass filter" does not help and makes the things ev

Hi there fellas, I'm using the HS_Datalog to measure some vibrations. At first, I used the Python SDK, but now I'm trying to use the libhs_datalog_64.dll in a c# Application. I can get the device info, start and stop the log, set some parameters like ODR or FS, but it seems that I'm doing something wrong when I try to pull my data from the st board. I can save it, but I cannot export with the Python SDK afterwards. Furthermore, I would also like to load the *.json Config File on the board using the hs_datalog_send_message(...). Can somebody tell me what the correct format of the message is? Can I get some more documentation on the HS_Datalog.h ?

Hi there,I am working with the H3LIS100DL Accelerometer. I am able to get readings back and it seems to work fine.My question is: what is the reading that I am getting back for the X (Reg 0x29), Y (Reg 0x2B), and Z (Reg 0x2D)? Does 1 digit equal ~1g? I have looked through the datasheet and unlike another accelerometer from ST that specifies how many 'g' 1 digit is, the datasheet for this accelerometer does not appear to have that information.Thanks,Christian

I have the imu 10dof and i got raw data of accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetic. And i calculate the roll, pitch, yaw base on equation same in picture. i had calibrate accelerometer and magnetic. in the picture, show the data of magnetic before and after calibrate. But the yaw angle is not linear. I rotate the imu from 0 to 30 degree but yaw data is 0 - 5 degree, rotate the imu from 30 to 60 degree but yaw data is 5 - 15 degree, rotate the imu from 60 to 90 degree but yaw data is 70 - 115 degree.my english is not good, please help me.thanks!

Dear ST Community,Ten days ago I already asked this support request but no one single response came from ST.I just bought and received an ST-EVALMKI109V3 + ST-EVAL212V1 after attending the webinar "Develop effective AI solutions for monitoring vehicles using a single sensor".I get this error that says it does not know the chip id when I select the MKI212V1 as shown in the screenshot above.All my software tools seem to be on the latest revisions. Anyway I updated the board with the last firmware using this video : Same issue.I also joined the picture of both boards.the error I get from Unico (above)a zip file that contains a few snapshots attesting the configuration presented during the webinar and which is identicalCould anyone help me please on this? Buying more than 100€ for 2 non-functional boards is already frustrating. Receiving no help is even more frustrating. Do you believe it lives up to the image of ST-Microelectronics ? Hi,I am debugging my custom board where I soldered an LIS2DW12 accelerometer on it. I forgot to pull the reserved pin ( 7 ) to ground as suggested in the datasheet. This is how I connected it:This is how it should be connected:Is this required, that the accelerometer can work properly? I cant find it on my I2C bus and don't know if it is related to this little mistake or maybe another, most likely soldering issue.Edit: I2C is pulled up and decoupling capacitors are also there. Just on another section.Thank you

Hello,I have connected my amicam1 with the nucleo L476RG and 2 IMP23ABSU (from STEVAL MIC007V1) on respectively M3 and M4 of AMICAM1.I used the microphone streaming example ( from memsmic1 V5-6) and configure amicam1_conf.h with modifying AUDIO_IN_CHANNELS to 4 and AUDIO_IN_SAMPLING_FREQUENCY to 96000.No problems in compilation but impossible to see and record 4 channels (MO1, MO2, M3 and M4) with audacity !What are my problems ?Thanks for the help.Jérôme

We are looking at using the LIS2HH12 in a design where the connected MCU is powered off and the LIS2HH12 remains powered on. We plan to use the LIS2HH12 in I2C mode so CS will be High. Will cycling Vdd_IO from 3.3 to 0 to 3.3V generate spurious I2C signals? Other questions we have are:Will the INT1/2 signal operate correctly when Vdd_IO = 0V? We want to use one of these signals to wake-up the MCU.If we set CS = 0V, will that reset the I2C logic in the LIS2HH12?There is a way through the registers to Soft Reset the LIS2HH12. Are there other ways to reset the I2C bus if it gets 'stuck'? Ideally, we do not want to put a separate power switch in for the LIS2HH12.Thanks all for any answers or feedback.

Hi, We have a PCB design which used to have LSM6DSL and we were using ACC/GYRO data from the sensor. Since we switched to the new LSM6DSR chip the INT1 does not trigger (when data is ready) anymore even though the sensor should be similar config (if not the same). What could be reason for this? The chip responds with NACK from commands which were used to work on LSM6DSL. Worth mentioning that INT2 triggers as expected w/o issues, but not INT1.Regards.

I'm trying to use the UNICO Pedometer Regression tool in offline mode to analyze accelerometer data from the LSM6DSO32 accelerometer. I have followed the instructions from the UNICO user manual regarding data format:-file name data_steps138.txt-data sampled at 26Hz-+/-8g full scale-data formatted to mg and tab separated, with x, y, and z axis data in that order on each line. Every time I try to run the tool I get a popup error at 1% completion saying "cannot open regression_tool.config". After closing that pop-up, the main window says "error: cannot generate configuration file". I have check the root UNICO folder and find no evidence of either file. Help debugging this issue would be much appreciated.

I have a stm32f3discovery board and I want to start playing with the LSM303DLHC MEMS sensor.I seem to have found the original example code on github.So I guess I need to add both the header and c file to my project. I'm not sure how to go about this. Also, what is this procedure called? Am I "adding a library"? Or is it called a driver?

Hello, We have found a non-expected behavior of the IMU system LSM9DS1 when is set with an accelerometer scale = +-16g. To show our findings, it is presented below descriptions and diagrams of the tests.Firstly, two different devices were tested to contrast one with a scale of +-8g and the other with +-16g. The devices are stationary with the Z-axis aligned with gravity. Hence, after multiplying by the range scale and dividing by the digital value, we should obtain values close to 1g in the z-Axis. However, as is shown below, one can observe that in the case of 16g, the values from the Z-axis are around 0,65.   To further test this behavior, the opposite test was performed. So, the IMU sensors were moved to reach the limit of acceleration. From this test, we noticed that even though, the gravity seemed to be shrunk in the case of the IMU sensor with the scale of 16g. The limit was still 16g.  Could somebody from the ST help us with this issue?--Best regards,Ser
