hi! i have a designed product based on the BUV98AV, since its an obsolete component nd its getting harder and harder to find in stock. i was wondering if ST has a replacement equivalent component? anyone can advise a similar substitute?

Things frequently go obsolete due to packaging materials, equipment (mfg, test), availability, etc.

Plan on doing a redesign based on modern high-running parts with simpler packaging/form-factor.

Work with a local ST Sales Engineer about suggested replacement parts or equivalent circuits.

I don't know what country/region you're in, or if you're doing business directly with ST, or via distributors, etc. Your buyer should know who they deal with, and who in turn they work with.

Currently ST still produces a few BJT with 1kV and above, but the future is IGBT, MOSFET or SiC MOSFET. Depending on your application you should consider a redesign, as suggested by @Community member
