I know that this IC: ST10F252-ABG is old, but is there any cross or direct replacement for it?

No, due to the very old design and the outdated functions and parameters, this type was discontinued a long time ago without replacement. I am also not aware of any cross, so the only chance is to find remaining stock at hopefully trustworthy dealers.

That makes sense to me. It was a *** shoot to be honest. But there is equipment running these ICs still and when the IC goes the equipment stops.
