device recommendation for 208VAC, 480VAC, 40A AC heater switching application

Application : We are developing a AC switching circuit using dual MOSFET configuration. The application is for driving the 208VAC, 480VAC, 40A AC heaters to control its temperature.

1. Is it preferred to use MOSFET or IGBT for this?

2. Which MOSFET series is preferred for this application?
We are planning to use switching frequency of 5-10Hz
Also can i get the I^2t value of TO247-4 and TO247-3 package MOSFETs , as we are looking for through hole package MOSFETs

Usually triacs with zero crossing switching are used and pulse packet control.

Or look at ready made triac modules with isolated control input and zero cross switching. No problem with the needed isolation then.

SSR , solid state relais.

See mouser, or other, search SSR.

Thousands of them, all voltage and current you want.
