Driving GaN FET Transistors with the STDrive101 / STSPIN32 range

Hi,

Is it possible to use a STDrive101 to drive a GaN FET give the typical 6V Vgs max rating of these devices?

I read the datasheet reference to 5.2.2 Externally provided gate driver’s supply voltage to see if we could home how reduce the 12V LDO to say 5V for example, but did not fully understand how to do this.
