Power management

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a Motor Driver IC and Motor Driver Evolution Board that can deliver 15 amps of continuous current. The VNHD7012AY Evaluation Board seems suitable for me, but will STM provide support in the future? Or are there any other driver development suggestions that would be comparable? In the meantime, I'll be driving the wiper motor. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to build a DCDC Converter with following conditionsVin: 400~600VDCVout: 12~15VDC(Isolation is not required)Current Rating: 100mA~300mA(Not really stricted)I can see DC application simple schematic at the first page of the datasheet for ViperPlus Family.However, every examples are AC Inputs with Full bridge Rectifiers.May I just skip the rectifiers use it for DC Application?I guess L,C are for noise filtering.All application notes are for AC DC Converter.  

Hi!I have an electric scooter that's a few years old, and I'm trying to find out if it's possible to use its charger for LiFePO4 batteries. The scooter's original batteries are two lead-acid units connected in series (24V total)The charger has the reference LT01. I opened the charger and noticed that the charging control IC is from ST. I couldn’t clearly make out the part number, but I believe it reads "324 MZNQ910".The charger specifies that it uses equal voltage charge and floating charge on its case. That is, the IC controls the charging up to a higher voltage level to desulfate the lead-acid batteries. After that, the charger maintains a less more stable floating voltage until it is disconnected from the scooter.LiFePO4 batteries require CC/CV charging, constant current and then constant voltage once the current drops near the end of the cycle. I want to know whether your IC also performs this type of charging so I can determine if it's suitable to use with 2 12.8V LiFePO4 batterie

Hi, I am having the same issue as this previous forum post, but the question was never answered.  Voltage and temperature sense give expected readings. REG_VOLTAGE_LOW: 29; REG_VOLTAGE_HIGH:6 --- VOLTAGE: 3818mVREG_TEMPERATURE_LOW: 186; REG_TEMPERATURE_HIGH:0 --- TEMP: 23 deg from the datasheet ---> current (mA) = current_code* 11.77 / Rsense (mΩ)REG_CURRENT_LOW: 203; REG_CURRENT_HIGH: 54 --- CURRENT: 15429mVWhere the actual current for my application is 2.5A. I am using a 10mOhm current sense resistor. Indeed a multimeter reveals 25mV drop across it.  Could somebody please tell me if this is a hardware issue? I have followed all recommendations in the datasheet closely, but cannot find a reason that current is this high. Furthermore, when my application draws only 3.5mA, the current reads 18018mA Thank you very much.   

Hello expert,We are developing a product using STWLC38 and are currently trying to obtain FCC certification.In order to perform the test, the following is required by the testing agency.・To output a continuously ASK modulated signal. (We only use BPP)・To be able to perform the test on the receiver alone without the transmitter.Is it possible to fulfill those requirements?Also, if you have obtained FCC certification for STWLC38, how did you do it?I don't understand if there are settings that continuously output ASK modulated signal.Also, I think that STWLC38 cannot operate without a power transmitterbecause it has AC input pins but no dedicated power pin.I'd like to ask for your advice.Regards,Ryoma

Hi, We are working on LLC converter Vout=12V; Pout=100W. We are using SRK2000A IC at the output. We are facing some issues related to it. The IC behaves as expected while driving the load from 30% to 100%. But when we start reducing the load below 30% the IC starts skipping the gate pulses. Primary side we dont see burst mode operation. Attaching the waveforms for reference: 1. Full Load VGS and VDS waveforms; working as expected.   2. <30% load VGS and VDS waveforms; having issue.

Several production-active STM products reference application note AN1965, e.g. referenced in STA540's datasheet ( https://www.st.com/en/audio-ics/sta540.html ). This application note seems to be about heatsink considerations. Application note AN1965 is not available from STM, nor anywhere else I searched.Can someone provide this application note?

Dear ST Support Team, We are using the L9678P in an automotive design where the battery voltage is nominally 28 V. From the datasheet, we understand the following for the VBATMON pin: Absolute maximum voltage: 40 V Operative maximum voltage: 18 V We would like to confirm: Can VBATMON be directly connected to a 28 V rail continuously, or is this outside the safe operating range? Is it mandatory to use a voltage divider to reduce VBATMON below 18 V during normal operation? Is VBATMON used only for battery voltage monitoring, or does it have a role in powering internal logic? Hey everyone,I am currently working on adding the STEF01 eFuse to my design and I have run into a roadblock. For starters, I can't seem to get the eval board to function. I have added the resistors to the board and I have a load on the output side but my power supply shows its still just an open circuit.  As for the design, my current specifications are as follows:Vin = 24V (+/- 1V)Ilimit = 4A (22Ω resistor)Auto-retry enabledEN/Fault = sent to 3.3V pin on microcontroller (using 20k|10k voltage divider)EN/Fault is also connected to the collector of an NPN transistor. (Base is also controlled by the microcontroller). I followed the datasheet and I believe I picked out the correct resistors for the Vclamp and UVLO.I chose 470k and 20k for both sides (around 25V and 23V respectively).The EN/Fault pin is something I am worried about. I am using the transistor to create a short to ground but I have a voltage divider also connected to the collector side to allow the 5V com

Hello everyone    I'm working on a student project with an STM35H563RIT6 and a Power over Ethernet (PoE) supply. I'm currently validating my design, but, reading the datasheet of the PM8805TR to do PoE, I just see the output current (max 2A) but no voltage (except VOB everywhere in the datasheet without any really data on it).   Did I passed over it without seeing the information ? Hi; i was trying to connect my eval-l9963e-mcu to an arduino uno, to comunicate by SPI. How can i do this? 

This is our first board design that uses the STP16CPC26. We have two chips daisy-chained together. The SDO output from the first chip never goes high. The SDO pin is definitely not shorted to ground or any other net, and is definitely connected to the SDI pin of the daisy-chained downstream chip. If the chip is properly powered, the SDI pin is held high, and clocks are applied to the CLK pin, is there any reason why the SDO pin would not go high?

My apologies if this is the wrong ST forum... it seemed like the closest one to the part I'm using.I have a new STM32F072 board design that has a STP16CPC26 LED driver connected to one of SPI busses. I just could not get the chip to do anything using the SPI bus, so I switched to a dirt-simple bit-banged (temporary, throw-away) driver so that I could easily change any aspect of the timing to make the chip work. Same problem... no matter what I do none of the outputs ever turn on and the SDO output stays low all the time. I've used a DMM to ensure it's properly connected to power and ground and that the supply voltage is okay (it's at 3.3V). I've had 3 other embedded developers look at the scope traces of the SDI, CLK, LE and OE- signals and they all agree that the timing and sequencing matches what the datasheet says you have to do to make the part work, but... it acts like it's dead. I've tried 5 different boards, and none of the outputs on any of them ever change state. I've also ver

I want help to understand this. The STM MOS FET STP6NK60ZFP has a MAX gate-source voltage (Vgs) at 30V. In order to protect it from ESD it has a built-in TVS diode. Over 30V it can fail. But the bulit-in TVS has breakdown voltage (Vbr) set at 30V. It's when it begins to conduct. The clamping voltage (Vcl) is a couple of volts more. It's when it conducts fully. But then it's over the limit 30V. More voltage than that can make the MOS FET fail. Shouldn't it be that the Vcl should be 30V so an ESD can't exceed 30V? Or is it really enough with Vbr at 30V and Vcl some volts more? Se table below.  

Hi ST Community! I'm working in a HV power design (400VDC) with a STPSC6H065DLF Schottky diode. I can see from its datasheet that pins 1 and 2 are not connected internally, but I can't find any recommendation about what to do with those pins. Would it be safe to connect them to the Anode? I'd like to attach a copper plane to them, for improving thermal disipation, but in the other hand I don't want to have a floating copper plane in that area, since it's a switching one.   Any recommendation or suggestion will be welcome.   Thanks in advance.   Julián Carrizo Electronic Engineer

Dears, I'm working on an audio project, and I'm searching for LED drivers with no PWM, to avoid noise. I need one sink (common anode LEDs) and one 'voltage' (common cathode LEDs) driver.  Could you please suggest two  drivers, which could comply with the following requirements please ? - I2C interface to microcontroller - no PWM, this is important - SSOP or DIP form factor, if possible - Sink driver: 8 channels, 50mA (for the RGB LEDs and two backlight leds as well) - 'Voltage' driver: 4 channels, 50mA - Power supply of the MPU will be 3.15V, hence logic levels will be accordingly   Thank you very much in advance !
