L6470 motor current vs MIN_SPEED

I use L6470 in my application at a certain running current. When I vary the speed the motor current remains more or less constant as expected. As soon as I change (actually increase) the MIN_SPEED value, the motor current changes (decreses). Anyone knows the reason for it? I expect that the motor current is not depending on MIN_SPEED value.
