L6474PD

I am working on L6474PD motor Driver.
I could figure out that, if the  input is  between 8-48v  it would internally regulate the voltage and supply to the logic circuit of L6474PD , but my question is will the L6474PD independently drive the stepper motor or should i externally give the supply to stepper motors 
waiting for a detailed reply!!!

I don't fully understand your question, can you please explain it in more detail, what do you mean by independent drive?

Basically my question is , L6474PD motor driver is given an input between 8-48v and at the output a stepper is connected, should I external provide supply to the motor or will the L6474PD will be able to drive the stepper motor
