L6920D what happens if Vin = Vout

Hello,

what would happen if I have a fixed 5V output L6920D boost converter and the input voltage is 5V. Will it just pass through?

Thanks

Well, the control section has a minimum off time and a maximum on time, so it cannot simply run through with a duty cycle of 100%.

Does it answer your question?

but the datasheet does state, "0.6 TO 5.5V OPERATING INPUT VOLTAGE" (my emphasis):

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Even if the data sheet shown by @Andrew Neil contains almost the same data as the current L6920DB (limit min 750mA) and L6920DC (limit min 550mA), it is out of date.

Unfortunately, I don't have an STEVAL-ISA077V1 hand to test this quickly. I am also of the opinion that the L6920D should simply switch the voltage through. During a test, the values mentioned should actually be visible at the output.
