ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

I Use STM32CubeExpansion_NFC3_V2.1.0 for emulate card with NUCLEO-L476RG and X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1.I can't find a example code for NDEF emulation card.Does anyone have a example code for NDEF Emulation card ?Card emulation feature is not written in the datasheet of CR95HF,but it's written in the datasheet of ST25R95, and they use the same sample project. So can anyone tell me the difference between CR95HF and ST25R95.Does CR95HF support NDEF card emulation featuren?  Best Regards.Peter G

The example code for X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 does not have a few methods mentioned in the headers, including st25r95SetACState(). This makes the 14443A emulation code not useful. Can you please provide the working example? Thank you

Hi, I am using the ST25RU3993 Reader Suite for communication and register access with UHF RFID chips. However, I am currently facing challenges in determining the correct data bit length, data arrangement, and specific command codes required for effective communication. While I understand that the device operates in compliance with the EPC Gen2 protocol, I have not found documentation covering these particular details.I would greatly appreciate any guidance, application notes, relevant documentation, or example commands that could support my efforts to write data to specific memory locations or registers on RFID tags using the ST25RU3993’s generic command function.

I'm trying to write a block ( 4 bytes) of normal memory from RF (via an Android) using command 0x21.I can do this with Vcc OFF, no problems.I also need to write to the Mailbox (command 0xAA), but to do this I have to have Vcc ON (obviously the I2C can't read that message without Vcc).The Write Block (0x21) returns 2 bytes, 0x01 0x0F, which is "unknown error".What do I need to do/set to allow the RF Write Block to work with Vcc ON?Many thanks in advance, gurus!

Dear ST Community,I’ve been working with the ST25 DV4KC-I NFC tag to transfer firmware for our product, but I’m encountering persistent issues with larger firmware files.Here’s the process I followed: I use the ST25 NFC Tap Android App to select the NFC tag and navigate to ST25DV Demonstrations → FTM Demos. When I initiate a firmware update with a smaller file (around 25 KB), the transfer completes successfully, and our bootloader processes the file without any issues.However, when I try to send a larger firmware file (~ 200KB), the transmission consistently fails between 35,000 and 45,000 bytes. The app logs the error "No response received," and the transmission halts around 50 seconds to 1 minute into the process. For the last 10 seconds, no data is transferred before timing out. Both the phone and tag remain stationary throughout.I’ve tested this issue on multiple Samsung devices, but the problem persists. Some require only to read an RFID card and others need to read and write such RFID card (no mobile devices or anything else). The RFID card type/protocol we can choose based on the IC (the ISO14443A looks a common one).In all products the RFID reader/reader-writer ICs will be interfacing with an STM32. Time to market is very important so we are looking at some solutions that already have drivers available for at least the basic functionality which is just to:- program an RFID card with a person name or just their ID- read such RFID card details (Unique ID and person name or person ID)That is it... Hello, So I am trying to make my freshly bought ST25DV64KC- DISCO work.I was trying to run the firmware update with NFC connectivity with the iOS NFC tap application.It was not working, since for the firmware update demo with FTM, kept complaining about a newer firmware version.Firstly, How am I supposed to update firmware without NFC connectivity? Anyway, then I tried to update the firmware with the PC NFC application by STM.But sadly that also did not work since the board did not connect at all with PC application.So to manually update the firmware, I tried to do it with CUBE application which STM provides.I installed this software, and provided it with hex file inside the prject directory from firmware download directly from stm website. And thal also did not work.And worst is that now my board is stuck with a black screen, no interface, and I canot do anything with it. Can anyone guide how I can factory reset with the original firmware atleast. I connected these 2 kits in some PC but cannot connect to USB HID as shown in picturesHowever when I unplugged the cable, the text "ST25R3911 Reader Board Removed" shown as in picture below.The USB status always in red, no board detection. I search google for event "Device settings not migrated" and tried to fix all the methods,eg. uninstall, remove device driver, scan pc, etc. Nothing work.The windows 11 driver is shown in below picturePC GUI for both kits were installed in latest version as shown below.The same kits, the same cable connected to the same software GUI in another PC is OKwithout "Device settings not migrated" event in Device manager.Any solution, driver to fix this error? Hi I was just wondering if someone could help point out where I could be going wrong with my implementation of write NDEF function. This is a very rough implementation but I believe I am following the correct message structure. I know my i2c mem write commands are working as I have tested the addresses. Dear ST Community,Our whole team is really irritated by the behavior of a ST25 DV64K-I tag.We want to use the NFC tag to transmit a firmware hex file (.bin). For testing purposes, we used the ST25 NFC Tap Android App and after successfully scanning the tag, we went to the feature menu -> ST25DV Demonstrations -> FTM demos.After deactivating the error recovery (when having it enabled it doesn't work at all for us), clicking on the "firmware update" button and picking a firmware from the phones storage, the transmission starts. Interestingly, when we use a small file like 25 KB, everything is working fine and our bootloader also completely processes & receives the file.However: The actual firmware we want to transmit is about 95 kb big. Everytime we try to transfer those, it fails at about 35.000 - 45.000 byte. It's always around 50 seconds to 1 minute after the transmission starts. I've also debugged the app and the error code "tag not in the field" is written in the console,

Hi All, I having been using the st25R3911B-disco board for the past several months as a development tool for a project using the ST25DV chipset. Up until now I have really only had to use the iso15693writ/readblockblock functions that I saw in the cpp example project. Now however I need to write to and read from special registers on the tag i am communicating with, such as the dynamic registers on the ST25DV chip. Its not obvious to me which functions from  ST25R3911B header file I need to use to do this, can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks,Patrick

During initialization of CC, as I understand we should have values 0xe1,0x40,0x40,0x00But I am getting 0xe1,0x40,0x40,0x43. Im trying to manually write 0xe1,0x40,0x40,0x00 at address 0xa6, 0x00 which is failing. Hi everyone, Today I installed the ST25NFC library for my ST25R3916B when I unpack the the zip file I see a .exe file. After installing and going to the designated folder I see all the files. What to do with those files is where to problem starts. I tried copying files from the RFAL folder into my project and setting the includes and source, when trying to build it result that it misses a file called rfal_platform.h. When trying to get that file from somewhere else and copying it into my project it results into a lot of other errors.  Can someone please explain on what to do cause I'm really confused at this point.

Hello All.I want to disable RF write access for all the user memory. Do I have to use RFA1SS like: Write password 00000000;If security session is open:     Read RFA1SS, OR it with mask 0x0C and write back to RFA1SS;     Write password ffffffff.?Do I have to configure user memory areas before to have it working or will it by default disable RF write for all the user space?Thanks!
