STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

I have Nucleo-L452RE-P and want to try out battery backup for RTC.I connected a CR2032 to Morpho connector 19 (-) and 33 (+) and when I pull the USB plug, the 5V LED LD2 remains on, although a bit less bright.How can that be?

Thanks for the previous response — it helped me understand the configuration better.   Now I have a follow-up doubt:   In STM32CubeIDE, I can see multiple pin options for FDCAN1_RX and FDCAN1_TX in the pinout view. However, when I checked the STM32H747I-DISCO board, those selected pins (e.g., PB8, PB9, etc.) don’t seem to be accessible via any header pins or exposed GPIOs on the board.   So my question is: Are there any accessible pins on the STM32H747I-DISCO board that I can actually use to connect FDCAN1 to an external CAN transceiver like the TJA1051T/3?   Would appreciate any guidance — especially if there's a known method to access these signals (e.g., via Arduino headers, PMOD, or solder points).   Thanks!

After I load my code ( with help of IDE) into NUCLEO MCU via USB cable, I'd like to disconnect it (disconnect USB cable) and power NUCLEO with battery(s) or external power supply ( lets say 3V or 5V). Is there any PDF where to read ? Or brief explanation please 

The STEVAL-STWINBX1 has 12 test points but there is no serigraphy for identifying them.Also in the UM2965, there is no information about the position of each test points.Where can i find this information ?

Hello all ! I have just purchased from the ST Micro web shop an STLink V2. I need this to change the firmware on a Dragino LAQ-4 air quality monitor, as recommended by Dragino.In order to perform this upgrade, the ST Link has to be used with the STM32Cube Programmer, via the UART option.The problem I am facing is that the Cube Programmer, when I select UART, shows No Comm port selectable. I run Windows 11 Home and, in the Device Manager, the ST link is correctly identified under Serial Bus Devices as STM32 STLink with no warning sign next to it. I have tried re-installing drivers, downloading STLink 009 driver package and installing that.. nothing works.If I use the Cube Programmer, I can update the firmware of the ST Link itself with no issue. I have used the STLink utility (004) as well for upgrading and downgrading the STLink V2 firmware, again with no issue. The STM32Cube Programmer would not see it under UART and in Device manager, there is no Com port allocate

I am using Nucleo-G491RE. I am debugging through the built-in ST-Link using STM32CubeIDE 1.18.1. My design uses opamp1 in standalone mode, which assigns OPAMP1_VOUT to PA2 and OPAMP1_VINM to PA3. What configuration of solder bridges will bring these opamp signals to the Arduino or Morpho connectors?  I have studied the user manual (MB1367) section 6.7, but it is not clear to me.

Hello, I have the STM32N6570-DK kit. I can compile, upload and debug by following the instructions on the kit. I designed my own board but I can't debug. I'm reviewing all the possibilities and I noticed some problems. I couldn't find any explanation. https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/stm32n6-boot-rom-explained/ta-p/763648@B.Montanari  's  article says H(High) VDDIO. However, in the DK schematics and pcb, the left side is vddio and the right side is gnd. Also, the Boot1 pin is pulled to the right to load software on the DK. So Boot0 becomes important. What's the problem? Are the documents wrong? Also, on the board I made, I can load software when boot1 is connected to vddio. But on the DK, it allows me to load software when boot1 is GND. What's the explanation?

I am using the X-NUCLEO-CCA02M2 expansion board with the Nucleo-H755ZI-Q, and I’ve confirmed that the MP34DT06J microphone is receiving the correct clock signal. Proper VDD and ground are also supplied to the mic. However, when I probe the DOUT line with an oscilloscope, there is no data output observed. Is there something I might be overlooking?

Could you please help me with my Nucleo-H753ZI board power issue? I would greatly appreciate your assistance.Earlier, the nucleo-h753zi board worked normally when I applied external power from a power supply at 9 volts.When I applied power using a 9-volt battery, overcurrent occurred and the U12 component overheated. Could you please advise me on how to handle this situation?Other than the power supply, nothing else was connected - only GND and the external power supply pin were connected. Even without external power, when I connect USB, the overcurrent LED still comes on.I would be very grateful for your guidance on resolving this issue.I think the board has probably crossed the point of no return.

I have a Nucleo-L4R5 board that I want to power externally and for power consumption reasons, deactivate the ST-Link.For that reason I removed the jumper from JP6 and applied 5V power to CN8 pin 9 (5V)and 13 (Gnd).USB is plugged to the ST-Link and I program the board with the timedWakeUp-example from the STM32Duino-LowPower library.The builtin LED starts blinking as expected, but as soon as I pull the USB from the ST-Link part of the board, the blinking stops.Board version is MB1312-A01 to which I cannot find the documentation/schematic. Only newer A03 Version is available.When I look into the A03 schematic, all should be fine and the MCU running when JP6 jumper is pulled. The 3V3 regulator U6 is powered and I can measure that the 3V3 voltage is present. Any idea what might be wrong?

Hello, I am using an STM32 Nucleo F746ZG board.I need to make an application where one board can transmit some firmware over to the second board via UART, and the second board will use it's default bootloader to read and flash that firmware.However, according to documentation I read here: https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an2606-stm32-microcontroller-system-memory-boot-mode-stmicroelectronics.pdf, on page 212, it mentions that the bootloader can only use USART1 or USART3. I cannot use USART3, since I am already using that as a VCP for debugging printf messages. Thus, I have to use USART1. However, the problem is that the USART1 pins, PA10 and PA9 pins it requires me to use, are already being used here:The PA10 pin is being used as USB_OTG_FS_ID, and the PA9 pin is being used as USB_OTG_FS_VBUS. From what I read online, I think these pins are important if I want the STM32 to communicate with my laptop right? If so, then how am I expected to use USART1 to flash firmwar

I want to interconnect STM32F407 microcontroller (on the STM32F4 Discovery board) with CS43L22 audio DAC from the same board and external TV tuner R820T but on the same I2C bus. The R820T works correct when RESET line of the CS43L22 is tied low. When I turned RESET line to high in my code and added initialization code for CS43L22 (including I2S) it works fine but R820T not. Here comes schematic diagram. The CS43L22 and obviously R820T are connected to I2C1 PB9 (SDA) and PB6 (SCL):The A0 line is connected to ground so I2C address is 0x94 and it's correct. According to the R820T datasheet it has 0x34 address:So what's the issue? I faced addresses conflict. I checked my code and hardware with oscilloscope and logic analyzer. It's also everything perfect except something extremely strange with CS43L22. It shouldn't be something like that but CS43L22 respond to both addresses 0x94 and 0x34. Hi,I am working on a lighting control project and looking for an STM32 evaluation board that supports native DALI interface.By native support, I mean:The MCU or board includes a built-in DALI transceiver or dedicated hardware for DALI communication.It has UART or GPIOs pre-configured for DALI timing.The board is supported by official firmware libraries for DALI protocol handling.Does ST offer any evaluation boards or MCUs with these features built-in? I try to create vehicle GUI on STM32U5G9J-DK2, but I can't find CAN pin to send data out from board to another node in CAN bus.

My company has purchased STM32F407G-Disc 1 board for evaluation in order to use STM32F407VE in our hardware.UART6 (PC6 + PC7) works fine but UART 1 (PA10 + PA9) does not work.I found in some old posts that in the discovery board there is a large capacitor connected to PA9 that prevents the uart from working.Is this true? Does this mean that in my final hardware design there will be no such issue and UART 1 will work fine?Thanks.
