FOC simulation software

I am about to buy ST evaluation board for motor control. Before that i want to understand the basics of FOC. I wanted to know if any simulation tools are available, to run the FOC algorithm to understand the Torque mode, regeneration mode, input current from the battery, output 3 phase output current from inverter, input power and output power delivered. So, basically i want to see each step in the simulation. Please recommend me some free software to view and make changes and verify.

Dear @JDesi.1

I recommend that you use an STM32 HW solution (there are several) with a recent version of the STM32 MC-SDK tool suite.

As @Laurent Ca... said, buy some inexpensive board (50€ or so), and poke it with your oscilloscope everywhere.

Or if youre a matab-simulink guy ... https://www.mathworks.com/help/mcb/gs/implement-motor-speed-control-by-using-field-oriented-control-foc.html
