Is it possible to modify the B-G431B-ESC1 to achieve higher peak current?

Hi Sir,

The peak current of the B-G431B-ESC1 is 40A. Is it possible to modify the board to achieve a higher peak current? If yes, what modifications would be required? If not, could you explain the limitations?

Thank you.

I assume it is mainly because of the PCB layout and copper thickness.

To use the B-G431B-ESC1 board it needs to be cooled down, if you check the data sheet of the board on page6

Output peak motor current (maximum peak current tested with a propeller to have an air-forced cooling): 40 A

Hi Sir,

Thank you for your reply. I have already reviewed the document you mentioned, where it states that the peak motor current of the B-G431B-ESC1 is 40 A with air-forced cooling.

Could you please help clarify what exactly limits the peak current to 40 A? For example, is this restriction mainly due to the PCB layout and copper thickness, the MOSFET thermal capability, the shunt resistor, or other design aspects?

I would like to better understand the design considerations behind this limitation.
