Under Load: Motor Not Reaching Maximum Current or Speed with IHM17M1

hello community,

I'm using the IHM17M1 with the NUCLEO-F401RE for a low-power motor control application involving a 6V motor. The setup works well, but under load conditions (such as when the motor is underwater), the speed drops below the reference speed. However, the motor is not drawing its maximum rated current (1A); it's only pulling about 0.2A under load. How can I achieve maximum speed and torque for the motor under these loaded conditions?

Hello @hashiR,

How did you measure 0.2A? Is-it from a current probe on one of the motor phases?
Via Motor Pilot tool you can also display the measured current....

Thank you for the response.

The power board (IHM17M1) is currently drawing only 0.2 A. Could you help me understand why it isn’t drawing more current, considering the motor can handle up to 1 A?
