I want to use the on-board RTC while all power (except VBAT which will be connected to a battery) is turned off to retain the clock.Is it possible to power the on-board RTC from VBAT and turn off ALL other supplies?What will happen after the other supplies are turned on again together with a POR?Can one of the VBAT GPIOs be used to signal an RTC event with only VBAT powered (want to use this to wakeup)?

As nrf provides a 2nd stage secure  bootloader mechanism in order to upgrade the mcuboot bootloader. Would the same process work in STM32?Just to clarify it is the upgrade of the MCUboot (as and when the new updates come) not the application firmware that part is already working for us. 

Hi STM,I'm working on coding I2S read/write at the same time with STM32F429IGT6.I enable I2S write with HAL_I2S_Transmit_DMA and Audio playback successfully.I could also scope the signal from the Sdout pin.However, if I enable I2S read with HAL_I2S_Receiver_DMA at the same time.The RX_flag will always show up Busy and play back also can't work.Do you have the sample code for the I2S read/write at the same time?

Hello,I'm looking for detailed tutorials or lessons on the STM32H7S3L8 / STM32H7R3L8 MCU. Is it possible to purchase such tutorials or lessons? I've been using Microsoft Visual Studio with VisualGDB for quite some time now, but those MCUs are relatively new, and VisualGDB only has the basics to work with those chips. I contacted Sysprogs and was told they are still waiting for their hardware to test those MCUs. However, I tried the STM32CubeIDE and ran some sample codes for the NUCLEO-STMH7S3L8, but I couldn't get anything to work.If anyone can help me out, please get in touch with me. 

How to cancel HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMAWe are developing SPI communication devices using HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA.We would like to cancel or stop HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA even in the middle of transmission by GPIO interrupt, but we do not know how to do it.Is it possible to cancel in the middle of transmission?Also, how should I program it?

Hi all I am trying to run CAN communication (normal mode ) from my discovery board (STM32F407) to USB CAN analyzer via (TJA1050).I am able to see data on TJA1050 (CAN TX and RX side ) but no data is reflecting on CAN high and CAN low side, so because of no data is showing on CANH and CANL ,no data is reflecting on USB display (note: only rev led is blinking on USB CANAlyzer)what can be issue ?B.RAshishPFA attached   

Hi Working on a project in which I require USART1,USART2 for serial communication.(RS485.)I am using processor STM32L053R8.the clock used is HSI.Timer21 interrupt is being used to measure clock period. (to test the CPU Clock).if the communication is started continuously, TIM21 and USART1/USART2 interrupts  both remain pending, hence the periodvalue is above the specified Range (above the HSI_LimitHigh) and hence the processor restartas with POR24.can anybody help?TIAAshwini

I am trying to design a dev board using stm32 mcu but the issue is I cannot select a ferrite bead I know some basics of ferrite bead but what should I consider from my mcu’s side to select a ferrite bead for it can anyone help me about this or is there any application notes for this

I'm trying to set up CAN in the Nucleo STM32H723 eval kit, I can see the message written to the CAN RAM, but I dont see any activity on the TX pin using an oscilloscope. We are developing using STM32H743.We want to set 100MHz for SPI1 CLK and 117kHz for SPI2,3. However, we cannot set it because of "clock tree" and "maximum divisible limit is 256".Is there any way to achieve the above configuration?

About SCLK frequency for SPI communicationWe are trying to set 40MHz for SCLK.What is the maximum SCLK frequency we can set?Is there an upper limit depending on the microcontroller?

Hello experts in my solar inverter i am running pwm at 19k with break enable function polarity high ,i have pulled down breakinput pin with 1k and has not used additional circuit of lm393 yet to control break but the break function falsely trigger automaticly in above configration after few seconds and even faster if loads at outputs are high ,anyone know why it is happening ? i have also tried a 100nf capacitor parralel to 1k

Additionally, I plan to utilize the bootloader feature to flash the code via the USBFS interface.As we know, when the MCU enters bootloader mode, various peripherals (such as UART, SPI, USB, etc.) are enabled by default."Enable state" on these pins could be caused either by an output set to high or an input pin with a pull-up resistor enabled, and I wish to avoid both options.To better understand which ports are active and which are not, I am mapping all of the MCU’s ports. This will help me identify which I/O pins are available for use without interfering with the activation of other peripherals during bootloader mode. Hello,I am newbie and i have project with STM32F407G-DISC1 and PMOD I2S2. It generates two RNG values at start and with buttons switches digital filter correspoding to RNG value and shows it on LED in binary. Digital filter length and coefficients are in included h.It works now with two filters. But i want to have 16 total filters. How i can optimise that?There are global arrays with size based on filter choosen by RNG. I read that declaring global array size in main requires malloc. Hello All,I am new to STM32 controllers and am working on flashing my application binary using Xmodem (bootloader) on the STM32U5A5VJ controller. The controller has secure and non-secure memory regions:   Secure region: 0x0C000000 to 0x0C3FFFFF   Non-secure region: 0x08000000 to 0x083FFFFFIn the secure region:   We have flashed the bootloader at 0x0C000000.   We have flashed the application at 0x0C008000. However, when the jump to the application is invoked, a hard fault occurs.In the non-secure region:   We have flashed the bootloader at 0x08000000.   We have flashed the application at 0x08008000. However, we are unable to debug the code to determine the cause of the issue.

Hello,I need to build an STM32 based solution which  will monitor the voltage differential between a .47Ohm resistor on a separate power amp circuit.  ( measure the amp's bias )   Both circuits will share a ground.The voltage read across the resistor using a multimeter has a potential max range between +-30V ( the rails are +24V but I am using +-30V to be safe ).  When the bias is adjusted correctly, the potential between the resistor is 500mV, and the STM32 needs to use its ADC to trigger an interrupt or or set a flag when the voltage range is off by more than 100mV ( higher or lower ).  How do I ensure I monitor the voltage differential without affecting the source considering it is an audio amp?Also, I would like to do the same to monitor if the speaker output wires have more than 10mV differential, but the voltage can potentially be +-30V.  ( only for testing when amp's input signal is at zero )

I have a small working touchGFX project with freertos app on a stm32F746-disco.   I want to write a few variables to flash so I am trying to call write/read in StartDefaultTask, but I get a Hard Fault when I go to Lock the Flash.  I have tried a few different locations  (0x60000000 & 0x70000000) that should not be used. I am working on a project that uses STM32F103 and STM32G4 as MCUs. They need to communicate between each other using UART. I am trying to configure STM32F103 UART clocks to match the STM32G4's clocks but I have not been able to figure out where to do that. I found a document that says UART clock is based on HCLK, but is there any prescaler that configures the UART clocks? If not, what is the frequency the UART clocks are based in so I can match it by configuring the STM32G4s clock, instead.To be more specific, I am using all ports as asynchronous. USART1, USART2, USART3, UART4, and UART5.
